What Students Say

Likes

Overall Infrastructure of the college, except classrooms
Hostel facilities and spacious enough rooms
Good and supportive friend group in hostel

Dislikes

Campus life due to restrictions on timings
Administration is too strict and unconsiderate
Course curriculum is not upto professional standards

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is not so good, not so bad, considering the reputation of the college. The faculty is not too interested in taking up research projects. They seem to just do what is necessary. On an average, a class has 25 students. Mostly, the faculty has a doctorate degree. Semester exams are not too tough, can be passed easily.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are available in the 6th semester for mechanical students, and in the 7th semester for many other branches such as computer, civil etc. Not so many companies visit for Internships, but the students who are willing to apply and are qualified enough, find an opportunity anyhow.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies start visiting the campus at the start of 4th year or the final year of the degree. Many top shot companies such as Maruti, Amazon, Zomato, Samsung etc visit the campus. The average package goes around 7-8 lakhs, the highest being above 50 lakhs. A huge number of students are placed on campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is pretty high, and every student complains about it now and then. The scholarship is available on campus for top performing students of each branch, which is a good amount, about 30-40% of the tuition fee.

Campus Life

2.5

Social life is not good in recent years. The annual fest is called saturnalia, which recently happened in November. There are several societies, which keep having their events now and then. The library is the biggest attraction, with a huge number of books, approximately over 1 lakh. Sports facilities are also satisfactory.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are good. Rooms are spacious enough, many hostels are built recently, hence they are new and up-to-date. Facilities such as cleaning, laundry, washroom, AC etc are also good. Mess food is satisfactory, being edible enough for daily food.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

The admission process was pretty simple. We just have to fill out an application form through the official website of TIET. The admission is based on board percentage and JEE Mains ranking. Punjab quota reservation is available in the college.

The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
