Course Curriculum Overview

3

If asked about the course curriculum. For the first few semesters, the courses taught are standard across engineering. After that, some branch-related courses are added to the curriculum. One thing that should be mentioned is the difficulty of the curriculum that is it is on the tougher side and sometimes it gets hard for the students to manage their studies with other ventures. Talking about the faculty, most of the teachers are well-equipped for their assigned jobs barring some exceptions which are I guess always present. One thing I would point out is the exams model is not too appreciated by the students. As there are exams held in terms of so many forms (especially class tests) which results in students giving exams every 3 to 4 weeks sometimes even less which doesn't help.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are various internships offered to the students at NSUT. The students are termed eligible for the internships after the end of their 4th semester. Various tech-based roles are offered. But as one can expect there is not a big number of core companies coming to NSUT to offer an internship.

Placement Experience

4

The placements that are offered to the students at NSUT are the most celebrated part of being a student at NSUT. The placement numbers are similar to any tier 1 engineering college in India. Students are eligible to appear for the placements after their 6th semester. The average CTC offered to the students in the last placement season i.e. 2021-22 was 18 lacs per annum. The highest package offered was for 1.06 Cr by Amazon, Germany. The difference between the of offers and the number of eligible students was almost negligible for all the branches.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for B.Tech is similar to any other government engineering college in the circuit. The fees are 210k, 220k, 230k, and 240k for the respective years. Some compensations are provided based on students' parents' yearly income. Also, there are similar facilities for the non-general category students.

Campus Life

4

The social life at NSUT is restricted because of the not-too-celebrated attendance rule. But still, if you can manage your time like a pro you'll not get bored by the monotonous classes. There are two cultural fests that happen at NSUT, one is in Feb-March, the all-so-famous Moksha, and the other one is an intra-college fest conducted in October called Resonance. The tech fest (innovision) is usually conducted along with either one of them. Talking about the societies, there are ~40 societies as of now at NSUT and if you feel like it you can create your own too! There is a decent-sized library at the campus where you can find everything that you'll ever need for your course. There is also a sports complex consisting of a football field, cricket field, volleyball course, tennis court, and basketball court. There also are facilities available for billiards, Table Tennis, badminton and other sports.

Admission

Admissions in B.Tech at NSUT are done in terms of the performance in JEE Main conducted by NTA. The counseling process is done under a council i.e. JAC Delhi which holds 4 more colleges in Delhi NCR. For my batch, the whole process went online because of the pandemic but it originally is held offline. Talking about the eligibility criteria. Firstly for JEE main, you need to be a class 12th or a 12+1 student. There are no age barriers. And for admission at NSUT, the student should have secured at least 75% in class 12th as an aggregate of physics, chemistry, and maths. This number is 65 for the SC/ST candidates. Also, 10% of the extra seats are reserved for the girl's candidates which tends to increase in the coming years. The admission process is based purely on merit. Although the cutoff has gone down with the increased no of seats and campuses in past years it is still pretty hard to get into.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
