Course Curriculum Overview
I chose PGDM so that I get an opportunity to get a better understanding of all the specializations and can make an informed decision. The faculty-to-student ratio at IMT is 1:15 with many visiting and in-house faculties with immense experience teaching us. They are guiding us at every step and ensure that classes do not get boring. What makes MBA different from an undergrad is the way teachers keep the class interactive. Term exams take place every 3 months and they are mostly case-based to gauge your understanding of the subject.
Internships Opportunities
Here we get multiple companies offering various roles. The roles can range from product manager to associate business consultant, management intern to brand manager. Top companies at IMT are Goldman Sachs, Cisco, credit Suisse, Dell, Google with many many more top companies.
Placement Experience
Summer internship placements for first-year students start in September. Final placements for final-year students start in December. It also provides us with short-term projects to learn alongside our curriculum.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees hike is not common at IMT. It costs approx 19lakh to study here. We have scholarships for female candidates and fee waivers for people who come from households with less than 8lakh per annum annual income.
Campus Life
IMT Ghaziabad has Passion as a cultural and management fest, chakravyuh as a sports fest. With mandatory residential programs, the college life at IMT is one of the best among b-schools. We even have all the major match screenings on campus. We have clubs like Finesse (finance club), international relations committee (IRC), RACE (Research and Consultancy enterprise) club, and many more.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel and mess facilities at IMT are wonderful. We get single and double occupancy rooms along with 4 meals a day. The menu is versatile, and accommodating for people from across India. Since hostel fees are included in the fees, people do not take up residence outside the campus. We also have a canteen that is open 20 hours every day and a Nescafe kiosk for the most required short coffee breaks.
Admission
I applied for IMT Ghaziabad using my XAT score. Eligibility for PGDM is 90 percentile. I did not avail of any reservation benefit. The application form was available on the IMT website and I applied for the same in November 2021. The application form was priced between 1500-2500 The process was entirely online and smooth. Support was provided by the admission office at every stage of the process.
Interview Experience
IMT conducts a critical thinking round and a pi round. Reading newspapers regularly is enough to keep yourself updated with current affairs from around the world. You get easy, abstract topics for critical thinking so that the panel can understand your thought process for a given topic.
