Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) because that was the only course I had any interest in. The majority of the faculties here are either from West Bengal or Odisha. Almost all of them have doctorates from an IIT or NIT and are well-equipped to be teaching their own subject. As for the ratio, there are almost 4000 students in CSE alone and 1 faculty takes 2-3 classes of 80 students each. They have a handful of PPTs which they teach from and also share with the students. The mid-terms happen almost 2 months after the start of the semester and end terms 2 months after the mid-terms. This goes for every university out there, if you study you will pass with flying colors.
Internships Opportunities
Students generally get internships after the end of 2nd year and many companies visit KIIT like Amazon, Microsoft, high radius, Deloitte, Ericsson, and Accenture and some even offer PPOs. The university organises training and placement classes so that the students will perform better in tests and pi.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are a little bit higher than other universities as it is a private University, the semester fees are 175000, registration fees of 1000, hostel fees of 28000 (3-bed non-ac), and mess fees of 22500 which brings the total to 226500. 2-bed ac with attached bathroom is approximately 70000. There are people on scholarship here from the college itself. During last year's campus placement rounds, the average CTC was around 8 lakhs with the highest CTC of 63 lakhs. The university also organizes training and placement classes to improve your aptitude, programming concepts, and communication skills.
Campus Life
In 2021 we didn't get our fest due to COVID-19, but recently we had a fest in which Sunidhi Chauhan and India's Got Talent winner DVK performed. Each school also conducted its own set of events related to that course. Each department has its own library and there is also the central library with books available for all departments. Before the start of the semester, a pdf of the books is sent to us and the hard copy of the books is also given. Every classroom is equipped with AC and a monitor to display the PPTs. In the first year, every student is sent a mail regarding the university team selection process for the sports University has to offer. There are many societies formed by students like MSC(Microsoft Student community), GDSC(Google Developer Student Community), IOT lab, KIIT film society, etc.
Admission
I took the KIITEE - 2021 exam which took place on May 27 in online mode. During the exam obviously, the camera on my laptop was on but we also had to have a separate phone with camera on for third eye view of the student, another thing during the exam was that after answering a question you can't go back to the previous question. The form can be found on the official site of KIIT and the registration is free of cost. Another way to get admission into KIIT is on the basis of JEE score.
