Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose ENC because It gives me a peek into both the Electronics core and CS domains. The student-teacher ratio is such that in the first year as subjects are common there are 250 students with one teacher but in second-year in classes we have 120 students on 1 teacher further class is divided in to sections with each 25 having a personal tutorial and lab teacher. The faculty are the best and have all done their PHDs from Thapar, IITs or Foreign universities. The exams are divided such that you have sufficient time to prepare for each. Here almost no students are failed

Internships Opportunities

5

NXP, AMAZON INFOSYS etc hire software engineers The stipend starts at 5000 and the median is 10000 and the highest goes to 100000. given by research and product-based IT companies. Entrepreneur ship cell creates opportunities for a few those who do not get an internship

Placement Experience

3.5

In the 6th sem companies start coming to Thapar. The number is greater than 200+ but It's important to note that many core companies visit the campus like L&T, Indian OIL, and Bharat Electronics. In CS companies like Flipkart Amazon Ola etc IN electronics Companies like American Electronics and NXP in Core:- Akash for teaching positions.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no proper annual fee hike policy however the fees remain in the range of affordable and way too many scholarships are given after 1st and 2nd sem. For students with a weaker background not taking the hostels while taking PG outside may be cheaper.

Campus Life

4

Thapar has its library nava nalanda ranked 7th among the most stunning libraries in the world. for books all sorts of courses and fun books are available. The classrooms all are equipped with projectors and Lab is equipped with ACs. For sports, we have 4 basketball courts 1 swimming pool, many badminton courts(10+), a cricket ground athletic track and sports equipment available for lending. There are more than 20 clubs and societies focussing on technical and non-tech work.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Most of the hostels are really well designed and maintained except hostel B. The food may be plain but is generally delicious and healthy. The hostel costs about 50000 per sem and the mess costs about 25000 per sem.

Admission

For BE (ENC) the eligibility is very less than 10+2 with PCM with min 80% marks the application form comes live on the TI'ET website. where you submit e copy of documents and register after paying an application fee there is a 50% reservation for Students residing in Punjab. however, in most branches, actual differences in cutoffs are very less specifically in computer branches. There also exists an NRI quota. The application process is exceptionally smooth

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Thapar has less student flow

Netaji Subhas University of Technology - [NSUT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Manufacturing & Automation)

I prefered branch over college

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
