Remarks

One of the best colleges in Bangalore the management is really good.

Entrance Preview

I took up the Karnataka CET Examination. I was ranked 4684. I opted for this college in particular as RNSIT is one of the top ten colleges in Karnataka. I had researched this before and it did make me feel it is one of the best institutions. Faculty and Teaching is good, there are lot of other opportunities provided too. A very good crowd which will keep you motivated.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Even though the engineering course is compelled to the subjects listed by VTU. In RNS every department heads will organize open house projects exhibition which will help students advance their knowledge by working on new innovative ideas. There are a lot of technical events held during fest which will engage students in better understanding of the technologies.

Internships Opportunities

There are no internships provided in the college. But the students are encouraged to take up internships during final year, there are companies visiting campus which will provide internships too.

Placement Experience

4.5

Many MNC's visit campus. Some are Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Aricent,Bosch the mass recruiters which will provide a package of 3.5 to 4LPA. There are also companies like ThoughWorks, Delloite, IBM which will offer a package above 6 LPA. Placements are always above 95%.

College Events

4.5

The college hosts Parichay, the intra college fest every year which will ensure the freshers actively take part, get to know the seniors and college well. RNS also hosts InterCollege fest Pantheon every alternate year which will involve Technical and cultural activities. There are a lot of opportunities for the students to exhibit their talent.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is considerate and not very expensive. The management is not money minded and all the programs are organized in a fair way. The fee structure is less compared to other expensive colleges which will mend money. Good infrastructure. Good canteen. Good food . All at a lower price.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college encourages students to obtain scholarships from central govt. Send notices regularly to keep students aware. There is no exclusive scholarship provided by the college.

Campus Life

4.5

There are a lot of opportunities provided by the faculty and management to ensure students are ready to face the corporate world. There are cricket tournaments organized, football tournaments organized for the colleges in and around. There are workshops for robotics, and the corporate companies like Accenture which organizes technical quizzes etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are maintained well. The mess food is decent eventhough lot of students complain .The canteen in college is one of the best canteens and the students in near by colleges walk in to RNS for having food in the canteen. The hostel conducts a fest named Utopia which is a grand event and makes the hostel life more fun

Alumni/Alumna

There is Alumni meet organized, also the alumni are helpful to provide an overview about the company which the are woking for, this is helpful for the current going out students to decide on the work.

Exam Structure

The exams are conducted per VTU standards. For every semester there are 3 internals and 2 lab internals conducted. The internal marks score is calculated taking the 2 best scores of 3 internals. Labs are conducted every week as per the schedule. Lot of emphasis is given on learning the concepts in lab rather than just executing the programs.

Admission

I opted for this college in the first round of CET conuselling where I had an admission token given. I went to the campus in Channasandra, the college staff are friendly and along with the admission process being smooth, I had an opportunity to explore the college.

Faculty

4.5

Every faculty teaches not just by keeping the curriculum in mind but also how the concepts can be used in the real time applications. Every class is ensured to be interactive. There are seminars which are to be given by given by students which will help students to research on the topic.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
