Remarks

Some facilities are quite impressive here like the sports grounds are very well maintained here. The fees are a bit high which is a concern and yes we do have some great student chapters and societies working in the college that makes the campus life good here and lead us to learn a few qualities along with it.

Entrance Preview

IIT-MAINS and IITJEE ADVANCE score was around 160 and advance rank 17000 opted this college because had a good placement ratio for a private college with mechanical degree

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Some of the subjects are quite impressive and we have some project-based subjects which make the curriculum interesting and a lot of fun as well.Every semester we have some projects based courses along with the normal courses and this help maintain our motivation in the studies overall. So overall I can say is we have quite a maintained and impressive course curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college provides us internships and we do have an internship semester for every course. Many companies do visit us and other research-based internships are also availed by many students here.

Placement Experience

4

Job opportunities are pretty impressive for some branches and have a great placement ratio but some branches even do lack those like electrical and chemical where packages are good but the ratio is not much impressive. In my branch the placement ratio is quite good compared to other private colleges in India and Some teams like Team Fateh over here have edge due to there project innovation in the placement procedures

College Events

4.5

We have a lot of events organised in the college like Saturnalia and the sports fests every year along with many mini competitions in respective sports and other cultural things.Saturnalia is our annual college fest and some others like the Thapar food festival are some of the other major fests here.We have a team named Frosh that helps newcomers settle in the college by entertaining them and indulging them in events during the first month of new freshers

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a bit expensive here and even though the hostel facilities are totally up to the mark the hostel fees is also a bit expensive which makes it a quite infeasible for the students here.Comparing to the other colleges in India yes I can say Thapar is bit expensive college to be in.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here we have some good scholarships based on the marks scored on jee mains and board percentage combined and also some scholarships provided by the alumni of the college for financially backward students.

Campus Life

4

A campus life I must say and the gender ratio is quite good here I guess around 60:40 or if not then 65:35 least i some branches that could also be 50;50. We have a lot of college fests and events over the year which makes the campus life quite good and interesting

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facilities are great here and have a comparatively ok management from the hostel representative the food in our hostel is really superb out there people might be thinking that this could not be possible because usually colleges don't have a good food quality in hostels but here it is quite good and the taste is well maintained.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a society here that manages the alumni record here and had some of the notable alumnis like the new Nissan India President Ankush Arora.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is a two-phase exam divided as Mid sem and end sem along with the quizzes and projects provided for the respective courses in the respective branches. The marks breakup is different for different courses but overall we have projects quizzes and mid-sems end-sems for the whole course breakup.

Admission

by applying for the Admission procedure filling a form of Thapar university through which my jee mains score was considered for the admission and selection basis.here we had three rounds of counselling and finally, we get the best branch we deserve overall it was quite an efficient system for a counselling procedure.

Faculty

3.5

All the faculties are easily assessable and very helpful in considering our doubts as well as ideas for different projects we do apart from the curriculum. For different projects, we are having around the semester and other projects we have desired faculties to approach for any help thus are valuable time is saved.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
