Some sweet and bitter memories of college ( An honest review)

I choose this course because it was in demand course and I was also interested in computers and technology. Faculty students ratio is 45-50:1, Faculties are good and experienced as well but they mostly focus on theoretical knowledge while they should focus more on practical knowledge so that students can become job ready after the completion of the course. The university conducts a term exam every 2 months there are 3 sessionals that are easy to pass. If someone has attended the classes regularly then he can easily clear the sessionals.

Students become eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester. TCS comes for campus placement every year but takes only 7-10 students after multiple rounds. Other than TCS only a few companies used to come who hardly offer a package of 4-5 LPA. The highest package of my batch was 8 LPA and the average was 5 LPA profiles offered were system engineer or junior engineer. Only 20-30% were placed in campus placement. After getting the degree I shifted to Delhi and after doing an internship of 3 months I got placed and right now working as a senior software developer in an MNC.

While I was studying there was no such fee hike policy. The fee/per semester is 60,000 INR. University provides a scholarship form on the basis of caste which can not be availed by general-category students. I have filled out the scholarship form as I belong to OBS Category, they released a list which was including my name but I have never received any scholarship amount in my account. So, according to me, a scholarship is not something on which a student should rely upon. University has its own placement portal on which a student has to create an account and students will get all the information related to placement and companies through that account only. Not many companies come for the placement only a few used to visit on campus. However, I haven't got the campus placement.

The university conducts an annual fest named UTKARSH which is of 5-7 days in which various activities and competitions are performed like. They also used to conduct a DJ night and a star night which is very exciting for the hostellers. Other than that grand function happens on Ganesh Chaturthi which is also of approx 7 days and includes Ganpati sthapna, Jagrata, and Ganpati Visarjan, and at the end bhandara for hostellers. The library is huge and includes all types of value-adding books which can be easily availed by any student by showing their library card. Classrooms are just normal not very fascinating. Classrooms include ceiling fans, board, and desks. Sports and other curricular activities used to happen usually like street plays, and sports competitions like basket ball, volleyball, and cricket. There are many clubs and groups which are run by students for students in which seniors used to select the junior according to students' interests and skills.

The university conducts its own counseling in which student has to apply and the criteria are basic a student should be 12th pass with a minimum of 60% and they used to give a particular rank of entrance exam like IIT upto that ranks students can apply. Application forms, fees, and details are available on University's website and University used to publish all the details in the local newspaper also. I haven't availed of any reservation benefits. The admission process should be more transparent than it seems. Admission fees should also be taken through online payment or UPI, However, University only accepts the payment in cash.
