Course Curriculum Overview

I chose AI&ML as I have a great interest in the field of Artificial Intelligence and its applications to benefit society. There are enough teachers in our course. The teachers are highly qualified and possess great knowledge in their respective fields, they help us with all our academic needs and also provide us with multiple resources as required by us. The internal exams are held almost monthly and are not so hard as our teachers give us the required notes. The semester-end exams are a little bit tougher compared to the internals.

Internships Opportunities

I am in my second year so as of now haven't done any internships but I have heard from my seniors that a lot of internship opportunities are available and the college is very helpful with placement training.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for placements from the sixth semester. A lot of top companies like Amazon, Accenture, Adobe, Bosch, etc. visit the college for recruitment. The highest salary package this year was 56 LPA offered by Adobe. The majority of the students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for my course through KCET is Rupees 98000 a year now. I think this is quite affordable as a lot of primary schools have more fees than this. My value for money is met as I am quite satisfied with the college. I got no scholarships.

Campus Life

There are two main fests held in alternate years. The intra-college fest is called Parichay and the inter-college fest is called Pantheon. Apart from these fests, various events are going on throughout the year organized by the different student clubs in the college. The library is well-stocked with a lot of books available and there is also a digital library. The classrooms are clean and well-maintained. There are various sports played by the respective college teams and one can join any of them if they possess the talent. There are a lot of student clubs in college that work towards different domains and one can join them and showcase their skills.

Admission

I took admission through the KCET exam rank. The application process was quite long as I had to wait till the third round to get in. We have to make a preference list of colleges and wait until we finally get an answer.

I have been from diploma background, after diploma I joined this course as later entry (direct admission to 2nd year). In diploma also, I have studied the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) course. As I know the basic concepts about this course, it is easy for me now to understand the concepts.

Washrooms need to be clean and good to use especially for girls hygiene it has to be good
Hostel food is not that great and needs improvement in the quality of food

Good the teachers find the best ways to make the subject interesting and teach us in the most interesting way they will help the weak students to feel the subject as a cake walk and help all the students out in the same way

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

Best location of college in the silicon valley of India

Campus area of the college is less than expexted
Conditions of hostels and mess is not good
Teachers and professors are not good in explaining concepts to students

Placement Experience:

From the end of 6th semester students become eligible for campus placemets.Many companies visit the campus including Oracle, UI path, etc offering students interships and full time jobs.The highest package offered to the student is 50 lakh per annum from UI Path and the average package of CSE branch is around 10lakh. Nearly 93% of students are placed in various companies.My plans after graduation is to grab a good on campus placement and look forward to my other goals in my life.

An honest review

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
