Learn a lot, live a lot

As per the good remarks, college is fully ragging free, has high speed internet connection, one of the best infrastructure and offcourse girls are very beautiful (for boys only, LOL). Talking about bad remarks, we need to take stairs everywhere since college is located at a hilly area. Bikes are not allowed in the college( may be good remark in bad) and nothing else.

I took JEE-MAINS, JEE-ADVANCE and BITSAT and scored well in all of them. I scored 177 out of 350 in jee-mains and along with 91% marks in +2 (CBSE). I opt for NIT Hamirpur because of it's infrastructure and good ranking in list of NITS. One of the most beautiful colleges of India, NIT Hamirpur has great history too.

Precisely talking abut my course (CSE), course curriculum is very vast. Keeping eye on research, Theory of computation, Operating system and Computer organisation are involved in the curriculum of first two year of course. Overall college has a good environment and course curriculum in all branches.

Considering the Internships provided by college, Companies visiting the campus for recruitment, also recruit students from prefinal year for internship based on their academics (CGPA) and interview process.Precisely talking about CSE department, many multinational companies like Samsung and IBM offer very good stipend to students for the internship. Overall students from all branches are selected for internship by various companies.

Talking about placements and job opportunities, companies from all over country and many multinational companies like Samsung and IBM visit the campus every year for recruiting students from campus. more than 90% of students get placed from the campus placement only.

Talking about cultural events, we celebrate Hill Fair, official cultural fest of the college. Rocking band, performance by students and celebrities make it one of the best cultural fest in north India. Despite Hill- fair, Hindi diwas is celebrated by Hindi Club and ISTE also organised it's annual events. On the other hand, talking about technical and management events, Nimbus is the official tech fest of college. In a 3 day long fest, many technical events, competitions are organised by students.

Fee structure of college is standard as per decided by ministry of human resource development and additional fees are not much. hostel fees (with mess advance) is a bit high. Despite this college offers scholarship to the students based on their academic performance.

College itself offer scholarship (merit-cum scholarship) based on performance in academics and category. In addition many central government and state government scholarship schemes are also available to the students. Talking about loan facility, State Bank Of India has it's branch in the college and college helps in availing loan facility.

Talking about campus life, life in NIT Hamirpur is full joy. Gender ratio is about 70:30, that is much better than any other college in north india. e have many places to visit nearby like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Amritser and many more. Sports environment is not very good in college but taking account of Engineering college, it's okk okk. An annual sports meet is organised by college every year.

As said earlier, infrastructure of the college leaves many top and modern colleges behind. Hostel facility is very good, much better than any other college I have visited till now. Talking about mess food, it's better than expected in hostels. food in the hostel is healthy and complete. quality and taste is also good as seen from the eyes of a hostler.

Colege has a great history so we have a great network of alumnies. Seniors are very helpfull but we need maintain our network with them. College is totally ragging free and we have very good seniors. Final year students share their experience and knowledge with us which is much more usefull than course knowledge and sometimes proove to be lifetime lesson.

Talking about exam and lab structure, we have one mid semester(mid-sem) exam of weight-age 20 marks, internal assessments like assignments and projects carry weight-age of 20 marks and finally one End-Sem exam carrying weight-age of 60 marks. So overall exams are not very frequent, e can enjoy a good college life. labs are only once in the week. so overall it's not a very hectic day in the college.

Scored well in JEE_Mains and after that participated in online counselling on JOSSA portal. According to my score in JEE_Mains, and percentage in +2, and my priority list of colleges, I was able to get this colleges. You have to priorities your list of colleges very carefully according to your interest and location of the college.

As being a current student of the college, I will try to focus on low side of this topic but every department has some very talented dedicated faculties like, in my department, Rajeev Sir, Amit Puri Sir, Avatar Sir, Shilpi ma'am and many more. Overall behind the success of every department in college, there are many talented and dedicated faculties. Students remember them for life time.
