Experience of college life

Since the college is affiliated to VTU university there might be the problems in exams dates getting postponed and classes getting extended and vacation days reduction etc.

COMEDK. Through COMEDK interview I landed up in SJEC. Yes I am from Managlore and I had to go to Bangalore to attend the interview of COMEDK. Since i am interested in mechanical related things such as engines , bikes etc.

Yes in SJEC the lecturer for my course BE in mechanical are good maybe I think I had to face some fresher lecturers which did not affect me since they were handling easy subjects. There is a separate research center in SJEC Mangalore. Elective there was no option for BE in mechanical . Other courses offer elective .

College do guide us in internship, otherwise students needs to go in search of the Internship. But weightage of the internship in placement has lot of weightage .

Placements for the students are provided only during fourth year. Above 65% and above marks students get placed. Major are TCS , Tech Mahindra , Decathlon, Bosch . For fresher average would be good company with 2 lakh annually .

There is tiara ( tech fest ) with tech night is the best tech fest , and other joshiana etc it will last for two days. Yes the organizers plan it very well for these fests and the response from other college is good .

Fees structure for the COMEDK seat is bit expensive nearly rupees1.2 lakh but for minority students college offers a scholarship and fees concession unless and until students attain a required percentage. CET fees are nearly rupees 75,000. And management about rupees 2.2 lakh.

Yes for minorities college provide scholarship if the terms and conditions are satisfied . Yes college helps in getting the loan from government in case students are interested .

There is college day , interclass football , basketbal , table tennis , badminton, volleyball , throw ball , cricket , chess etc. There is sports day , tech fest , auditions for college singing , talent showcase , music instruments etc. Freshers day , engineers day , tech night all are very well organized .

Hostel rooms are two in a room . First year they give the room mate and second year onwards allowed to chose room mate. Food has some problem in hostel but there is alternative good food provided .

Yes there is a proper interaction with alumni group and there is graduation day for the graduated alumni. And always alumni are welcomed to come to college and work on any of their projects with permission .

It was not frequent but it helps us to attain average to get good marks in final exams. But the board vtu sometimes fluctuates in examination dates and makes us feel tired .

There are lecturers with PhD graduates. And many experienced lecturers are there and some freshers. Some lecturers are very interactive who will come near the students and teach some give good points to note down and some others are friendly too.
