This college was once famous for its placement percentage. But nowadays it is loosing that. I think this should be improved. And some faculties need to be replaced.
Entrance Preview
I ranked 16751 in wbjee and got chance in this college in electronics and instrumentation department. There was no further tests or interview. I wanted to get into a good college and had interest in electronics since childhood. So this was the best possible way as per my rank.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is really a good course. Got to learn many things. Got to use practically different costly and unique instruments used for different purposes which other streams do not get to see. No research initiative was taken by the college. Elective options were not much but between data structure and dbms there was a choice.
Internships Opportunities
No internships are provided yet. We hope to see that in future. But one can apply outside the college for internship and college will provide support to him/her regarding attendance or internal marks etc.
Placement Experience
As we all know that in west Bengal placement rate have gone too down. Still the college is trying to bring as much company as possible. In the last 2 years placement rates have decreased drastically from about 85% to 50%. Its not the fault of the university.
College Events
There are several events held throughout the year in this college. This is the only technical college in kolkata which organizes so many events starting from blood donation camp ,social services, technical events, free workshops, different cultural programs Edge, the tech fest of technl India is the second largest in east India in terms of prize money. Anakhronos, the tech fest also is huge.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total course fee is almost 4 lac. 80 thousand for joining as well as first semester. Rest every semester average 40 thousand each.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there are loan facilities but scholarship facilities are not provided by our college. They help in getting loan but i haven't taken loan so don't know in detail
Campus Life
As previously said this college provides several facilities for extracarriculars including drama,cricket,football,dancing etc.
Hostel Facilities
This college does not have own hostel but they arrange for accommodation in PG. I travel from home as i am a resident of this city. Yes the PG's have single as well as multiple accommodation facility. Food in kolkata is always good. I heard no complain about food from my friends residing there.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes every year alumni meet is organized by respective department and there happens a very good alumni student interaction
Exam Structure
Exams and labs are not that frequent but assignments, writing lab manuals drawing graphs and having 75% attendance seems a bit hectic.
Faculty
The faculties are very qualified. But some faculties lack teaching skills. Its better if that can be improved. The standard of teaching is good enough as compared to other private colleges in kolkata.
