Remarks

College life is great. It is not the college but you who can make it a better place. Make full use of the utilities the college provides. Take initiative, the college will help!

Entrance Preview

I was considered on basis of my JEE result as I missed the specific entrance test which was conducted by the college. There surely was an interview heeding towards my bend over this college as I scored enough to be a student of a renowned Government college. B.Tech was not a blind eye shot but also not something I took as my last resort. I've been inclined towards Science back from my school days. Just that when you get to know what it actually was, I was not very sure if I want it anymore.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

College has been below average in providing the required attention to the faculty. Right motivation and guidance is what makes a good engineer. Overall course is brilliant, one that would be amazing to study if you are interested. Regular practical assessment is great in our college. Various laboratories are there in the college which focus great on conducting experiments and practical knowledge. There are a number of faculties pursuing the doctorates degree through our college in research field. In fact ours is one of very few colleges which provide some advanced laboratories in our core branch which are not available to many students studying in different colleges across India.

Internships Opportunities

The college internship were not a payed one. It would be better to consider Government training. You get to learn a lot more than what you get through college. Though they are not a bad option either.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement offers are good if the quantity of recruitment is considered and not the quality. Certain companies hired few outstanding students that I am not aware of. Major companies that hire us include IBM, L&T, Wipro, Infosys etc.

College Events

4

College organises many technical fests. There are technical paper writing competitions. Frequent workshops and many renowned teachers across India who visit our college. Fests are innumerous in our college. On various occasions, there are individual fests organized by the B.Tech School. MBA, NIFT, Dental School, Medical School and other parts of our college. They are BIG and great! In just 3 years of my life here, I've met and seen enough of Bollywood stars and music stars and even great people such as H'able Gaur Gopal Singh than I might ever in my life! Organization methodology is great. There is a dedicated student activity center which takes control of fest organizations.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee goes as goes the campus. No kidding. A lot! But hey! You don't always get the chance to brag that your college occupies more that 10% of the entire city it is in. Fee structure amounts to nearly 1.5 Lacs per semester, which includes our tution fee, hostel fee, mess fee as well as other facilities such as laundry and examination fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarships to students who excel in studies. Unfortunately I do not fall in that category to avail one!

Campus Life

4

Photography, acting, social sevice, swimming, poetry, cricket. You name it! College very well supports extracurriculars. There are a number of societies which work together for the betterment of there respective interests. We even have a college stadium which organizes Ranji Trophies. In fact one of our student Dutee Chand ran in 2016 Rio Olympics. I personally have upped my photography game since I've been here inspired by the famous photographer Kartik Bhagat who as well is our college Alumni. I've even made a few movies with my society here.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I do live in hostel. We do not have single rooms. We live in a set of 3 in a room and minimum 2 which is followed in some air conditioned rooms. Hostel life is great. The hostel wardens are friendly, the whole hostel is under 24x7 CCTV surveillance. Hygiene is maintained both in washrooms and corridors. Mess food is okay. Not very appetizing I'd say. You have a menu for every week which gets changed frequently. Hostel charges go as Rs. 17,500 per semester for me which may vary depending on which year student you are. It doubles as you shift to a AC room. Mess charge is Rs.15,000 per semester which might as well vary.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni-student interaction is something I've not yet discovered here. But yeah could contact your seniors as they are very friendly.

Exam Structure

No. Exams and labs are fun as long as you work hard. There is no reason one could hate labs unless he is unaware of the entire motive of what the specific subject is all about.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty is great as far as their knowledge is concerned. But teaching is a bit different aspect. Not everyone who knows can teach. I've met a few teachers who were more than great at teaching but then there are a majority of faculty who could hardly make us understand the concepts. This could be the reason of interaction. Majority of faculty speaks the local language of Orissa, which leads to a sluggish accent of English they speak, not very coherent to me. Student teacher interaction is fine, but the lack of good faculty is one reason Civil Engineering is not doing great in our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs
