Entrance Preview

I have appeared for VITSAT which is for getting admission to vels, i had very few choices so i have made wrong choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum was not that bad overall, but very strict rules no enjoyment but still u will find some good life moments there . There were no extra curriculum activities.

Internships Opportunities

This is the worst part of the review as there were no internship program in this university. They never tried or thought about this so none of the companies came for internship program and here we are lac of experience and thinking even they have not allowed us to go to some state and do internship .

Placement Experience

None of the company came no one is placed in my knowledge still few of them are job less includes topper also. Placements, packages its all dream for us that will never going to happen .

Yes there few events which are celebrated every year, I didn't even remember those events names bcoz they were not like events in delhi university or other .

Exam Structure

You will have monthly test which adds to the final semester results, a last day study is enough to clear all the papers but its not that easy . Labs are good actually very good .

College have mixture of faculties some were excellent some were good and some are so dumb that i cant explain to you . But dont worry teaching standards are good there .

the classrooms in specialization are air conditioned

the attendance is strict at 75% and subject attendances upto 80%
you cannot exit campus before 3.15 pm under any circumstances

The placements are very decent and they provide internships as early career opportunities as well in 3rd year of studies and the college possess high conversion rates through these internships which support the resume with actual corporate exposure

At 8th semester the students can become eligible for campus placement and the companies visited more oftens are win etc the highest packages about 25 LP and average packers about 2.5 lpa percentage of students getting placement is above 80 percentage.

Likes

Here there is no gender separation like boys and girls should be seperate and stuff like that.
It is a autonomous college so courses are changing regularly with the shift in education
Here we have relative grading system therefore there is no ranking and easy to get good grades

Dislikes

We have to pay yearly fees not semester wise it difficult for low income earning families
Money is collected from students for all events happening in the college.
There is a rush for collection of fees at the start of each year and unpaid students might face absent issues

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate but i don't know much about other courses but for civil engineering the average placed ctc is 3 lakh per annum one or two students got higer package but most of the students got lower package as a fresher.

High fees the government college but charging high fees making it difficult for students from lower income background to access quality education
often have limited seats dealing to intense competition and disappointment for some students

From 5 th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Lots of companies. The highest package is 26 lakhs and the average package is 1.5 lakhs. 98% of students get placed. Doing my best in a career as an entrepreneur.

Vels University is not that bad

It's very easy to get admission in this college as the admission procedure is very simple. You can directly go to the head office, and you can contact the people sitting in the reception. They'll guide you and throughout the admission. Also, it's near to the airport, which should make a travel entry for the students who are coming from the other states. Also it is situated in a very good place. The college is situated in Pallavaram, which has various like basically everything is present there beat food beat hostels. it's a good place. The location of the college is very good making it very accessible other than the location. The faculties are very nice.
