Hostel Mess Food are great and healthy.
No ragging in campus or Off Campus great Environment.
Bathrooms Are well maintained and clean.

Dislikes

Teaching Procedure is Quite Bad and very Vast Syllabus,
Water Logging prblem is there in hostel.

It Was Definitely my Second Choice And the Indian Navy was my first choice. but I always loved everything about ships and oceans. and Of Couse, it's One of the high-paying private jobs in India. I can travel the world and live an extravagant lifestyle both for me and my Family. The strength of my batch is 285 and college placements are also good.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 270000 per year

Internships Opportunities

It's A Marine College so there is no such thing as an internship, You join a ship as a 4th engineer and then it depends upon your performance to reach the highest rank as Chief Engineer. Around 20 companies come to this college most of them are foreign companies Some Names are Great Eastern Shipping, Mitsuik Osk Line Etc..

College Placement Scenario is Great With 99% Placement the previous year For Boys it generally starts from 3 years But For Girls, you can get Placed in the First Year Also. Placement Rate For Girl Is 100%. There Are a Total of 8 Semester

Fees and Financial Aid

The Total Fee For A semester is 1.15 lacs and if you break down the fee then including the hostel and facilities it's fine and there are lot of scope for taking a scholarship or loan. The college will very much help you regarding scholarships and loans.

Campus Life

Life In IMU is great It is a paramilitary college and Off course it's a residential course so life is well organised, hostel food is also great and there is a good variety of food. classroom conditions are also satisfactory and teachers are great too.

Admission

I took an entrance Exam Named IMUCET Which Is Required To Take Admission To Any Marine Courses. After That, I Have To Sit For the Councelling procedure. After Councelling I have To report to the campus for document verification. then I was provided with one admission letter and a pdf stating all the items I have to bring from home as it is a Residential course.

Placement Experience:

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

GOOD College at low fees.

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Placement Experience:

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

The college is good for academics but there is no campus life.

Placement Experience:

The placements are average in the college. From 7th semester the students are eligible for placements. About 60% students get placed in the college. The average package of our college is 3-4 lakhs per annum and the highest package last year was around 13 lakhs per annum. I will choose to do M.tech after passing out of the college.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development. DMET- Who Is Making a Skilled Engineers

My college ( IMU Kolkata Campus) also known as DMET is one of the best marine engineering college from all over the world because here we learn how to handle bad situations, discipline and creates the eco friendly environment in between the senior and juniors as well as the batchmates and help each other in difficult times. The best thing in this college is that you don't have to worry about your placement and your character this college makes you like that you can achieve everything by your own self.
