Remarks

My advice would be to choose better college than this.Based on its review from ex students not advertisement.There are lot of problems you might face over here which can not be expressed in words.One will come to know about it after joining.

Entrance Preview

I have given West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination had a rank of 40k. My stream was decided from before hand. The only reason for opting for this college was I didn't had much idea about how a college can change your life the decision was taken within a short moment of time.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course structure are based on the guidelines of WBUT. There were no research on Computer Science Engineering department. I don't think even the other streams had any such research. 4 yrs course with 8 semester. 2 semester every year. The 1st year subjects were same for all stream.

Internships Opportunities

No internship and stipend are provided. Training are optional which can be taken either from the college or outside.

Placement Experience

Placements starts with 10,000 to 25,000 maximum. On campus, off campus and poll campus are conducted. 50% student gets placed. Don't go buy the 100% placement advertisement as those are made to attract students. And the mentioned salary package is also not true. Once you get a job offer you will not be able to sit for the rest of the campusing.

College Events

You will have fresher on the 1st year and Fest every year dedicated to the final year students. Other small programs like teacher's day and student's day will be celebrated in the class. No outside bands are entertained only the college student performs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

3,70,000 in 4 yrs is pretty much same or more than other colleges. You will have a deposit of 9000 before taking admission, which will be refunded after passing out. Average of 45,000 per semester except the 1st one where you will have to pay 60,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

For loan you will have to apply from outside. College will provide you the documents which will be needed by the bank. Scholarship are not available.

Campus Life

Boys are more than girls as most of the colleges. Labs are okay and extracurricular activities like sports, debates will happen once a year during the fest. Campus life is not that fun as there is nothing much to do. One has to spend time in classroom gossiping.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are the only positives of this college as they are cheap and well maintained. Will cost you 5000 a month. This are within the campus. Food quality are appreciated by all. But strict in living the campus thus many students live them in 2nd year.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were very helpful, but as this is subjective. One should not make decision of choosing your college based on this. Obviously the interaction with them changed my experience because I was more friendly with them than my class mates but one may not get such seniors now.

Exam Structure

1 semester every 6 months. 2 interals and final exam every semester. Intenal exams are of 30 marks which will be added to the final semester marks of 70 marks. Making a total of 100. But internal marks dosen't matters because at the end those 30 marks will be on teachers hand and their marking will based on your attendance and reputation with the teacher. One will have to get a minimum of 12 to pass even if you secure 70 out of 70 in the final exam.

Admission

I received a call from the college, there were no such process. First, they brainwashed me in such a way that I ended up by taking admission in their college even without visiting other colleges. Just had to fill up a form and made a 30,000 payment as advance seat booking because I was said that the seats were limited to 60 but found out later that they took in more than 70 students.

Faculty

50 % of the facilities are good rest is even worse than the primary school teacher. Some teachers are rude by nature may physically abuse the student. Teaching wise not much problem as they will be available for you in their free time. Assignment pressure will be a burden as it is nearly impossible to write such lengthy notes every day after 9.30 to 5 o clock class.

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I

The infrastructure of the college is good.I would consider the college as very clean.
The campus life is pretty good but there are strict instructions to freshers to not roam in the campus.

Dislikes

I disliked the condition of the bathroom and the corridor on the first day.
My hostel room was very filthy.The workers charges ₹100 for cleaning it

From 4th year students become eligible for placements.Google, Microsoft,Gold Man Sacks, Apple were some of the companies that visited NIT Durgapur For placement regard.The highest package was 80lpa and the average package was 13 lpa.Total of 83% students got placed.The placement is quite good.

The faculty are well taught and the campus is very beautiful . The buildings are like newly bulid . and the campus is very clean.
In our branch the boys and girls ratio is almost 16:11.
The senior behave like a friend and they help us a lot and they also very supportive.

Dislikes

The college campus is too small compare to other colleges.
The college classes are not regularly held and the attendance system is not very good.
The classes are very boing and sometime it feels like aa school and the labs are not held timely.

Placement Experience:

our college average package is 600000 per Anum and highest package is 1800000 per Anum according to recent data. and 80% of student got placed . And wipro , windows, tcs , siemens , tata like companies come to our college for placement. Core students are also got placed but many of them goes for hihger studies.

Likes

One of the best things about my college is all the classrooms and labs are fully air conditioned. The classrooms, labs and even the toilets are cleaned regularly, which really helps to create a comfortable learning environment.
All the clubs of the college remain active all the time no matter whether it's technical clubs or fest related clubs like fun events domain, etc.
The most important thing is that the college is entirely ragging -free. College also maintains a healthy girls to boys ratio.

Dislikes

The classrooms are quite compact compared to the number of students in each class . At times it feels overcrowded and a bit uncomfortable during lectures.
Some of the faculty members are relatively inexperienced. It often feels like they don't have full command over the subject they're teaching, which can affect the overall understanding of important concepts.
Another issue I've noticed is the irregularity in certain subject classes. Not all subjects are taught consistently every semester , and there are high chances of some classes getting missed or not scheduled properly.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible to sit for placements form 7 th semester that is from the beginning of final year. Usually the service based companies come here with cgpa criteria and offer jobs to students.

Likes

Ragging free campus. Strict action are taken against those who found guilty.
Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

Experienced Faculty-students often appreciate a good blend of practical and theoretical knowledge.Faculty members in some department are often known for thier excelence knowledge and experience
Excelent Campus-techno india university has a large campus with excelent facilities such as libraries,labs,seminar halls etc. Some students finds this facilitries useful
Funs and Events-techno india university provides a vibrant campus life with events that span a wide range of interests

Dislikes

Time Management-the one thing that I disliked was their time management.They dont provide a proper shedule for exams,routines etc
Teaching Methods-some students feels that cirtain teaching methods(like a focus on lecture without without interactive learning or industry exposure) must be improved

Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

I applied to multipl colleges offering similar courses. Some collegese were rejected due to high cut offs, limited seats, or delay in the admission process. I chose this college cause it is a value for money college. The other colleges that i applied for are - Adamas University, Swami Vivekananda University. Comparing this college(Brainware University) with Adamas University - The course fee is very high in Adamas University than Brainware University. Total Fee for Btech CSE in Adamas University is 8,00,000 while 419600 in Brainware university, meaning half the price. The fee structure in Swami vivekananda University is 3,60,000 but it hasnt much placement opportunities so brainware univeristy is like all for one with low fees . I chose this college coz the fee structure is much less then other colleges near me. I applied for Adamas University but after going after the fees structure(8 laks for Btech CSE) while i can apply for it in Brainware University for the half of it.(4.5lakhs for Btech CSE) No, I didnt got rejected from other colleges. The admission process is very easy. The eligibility for Btech is the students must have more than 60% in aggregate in PCM(Physics, Chemistry and Math).
