The faculty members were very cooperative and very friendly always ready to help.
The seniors are very friendly and helpful.
The staffs have good behavior and overall nice experience.

Dislikes

There is not separate ground for college the sports are done in school ground.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am a Mechanical engineering student, our total number of students is approximately 80 and there are 14 faculty members for theory papers and 10 to 12 faculty members for workshops, labs, etc. All the faculty members are experienced and qualified from IITs. The exams were in gaps and it was easy to pass if you just attended the classes.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are various internship opportunities available like Flipkart offering an internship with a 20000e. stipend, many small company internships are available, like CAD, data analysis, developer, sales, and many more.

Placement Experience

From 6 Semesters students are eligible for campus placement. There are many companies visited but most famously BWM Motorrad, Mahindra, Cape jeminy, TCS, Wipro, and many more. The highest package offered till now is 12 LPA and the profiles offered are Executive Assistant, Junior Assistant manager, Data analyst, and many more. A total of 82% on average students get placed every year. My plan is to prepare for government jobs after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total 4 lakh fees for Btech course. College provides a variety of scholarships and financial assistance, also there is a Government scholarship facility SVMSC, and it also provides campus jobs and internships.

Campus Life

The name of the annual fest is Utopia and the tech fest is Technotia, both are held in January of every year. There are a lot of books available in the library as well as on the college website. Classrooms are well maintained and CCTV and projectors are present in every room. Sports most in common are Football and basketball, but in annual sports, cricket is also introduced. There are many clubs like Riser Club, Startup Club for students, and Heritage Club for social works, all the clubs are run by students.

Admission

You need to take any of the Entrance exams either WBJEE or JEE mains and take Admission through counseling or you can also take Direct Admission without counseling, you need to book your seat if you want to take direct admission.

Likes

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement Experience:

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Good Internship Opportunities

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

BCREC a underrated college

Likes

In my batch there are 64 student and there is only 17 girls.so the girl boy ratio is good.
This college has the largest campus of all the college in the West Bengal so college campus is really good
As I am a student of information technology so they are teaching me the course subject and also soft skill subjects that can help me in my placement journey

Dislikes

The college is located in rural area which is the bad thing
The course curriculum is not at the level of IIT NITs as we are studying some subjects which are introduced in the late semester which IIT and it and study in their second or third semester
The third thing I don't like is that the Student of the college discriminate among each other like the local residents who are bengali's day prefered their friend as Bengali

Placement Experience:

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

The college provides a moderately good infrastructure so it is more or less good. However some lab equipments have gotten old so upgrading those would be appreciated.
The teachers and students are very friendly so interacting is very easy. Teachers are mostly experienced and quite knowledgeable in their field of expertise. However the college follows the curriculum suggested by makaut which feels outdated.

Dislikes

The college doesn't give any options to play anything in college in their free time so that's an issue in my opinion. Also college isn't keen on giving NOCs for internships. Also they don't tend to provide funding to projects developed by students.

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

GOOD College at low fees.

Likes

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

MCKVIE, a good college for its price

I applied for admission in many colleges like Siliguri Institute of technology, Heritage Institute of technology, Techno Main Salt Lake, Calcutta Institute of Engineering and management. (Through management quota) From the above, I got a confirmed admission in CIEM(Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management) but i later opted for WBJEE Counseling to try my luck there. I put many colleges in My WBJEE preference list. It's very fortunate that I found out about MCKVIE at the last moment as it was a very good college considering its low price. From the colleges that i opted for both in counseling and management quota... most colleges were too expensive for me, or i was not able to get the desired course. MCKVIE was very suitable as I got CSE with a semester-wise tuition fees of around 55k. The admission process of my college was fairly systematic, I got Core CSE through WBJEE Counseling and got my seat throught WBJEE+JEE Rank. Overall admission experience was a bit lengthy process because it involved the Counseling procedures, but it was smooth and the officials were helpful and well prepared for all kinds of inconveniences...Read More

I took WBJEE, and got this college in 2nd round of Counseling...the cutoff was 32k for MCKVIE IT , i got 28k rank. Eligibility of the course is should be Higher Secondary graduated+ should be within the cutoff range.... Application fees for WBJEE was around 1.2k and other forms will be available in WBJEE website..... There is a facility called Tution Fees Waiver or TFW, only for meritful students and very less in number because in a stream there's is only 3 seats for TFW, and the family income should be less than 75k yearly and there should be domicile certificate and income certificate........Read More
