Better option for soft branches

There are both good and bad sides to everything. Sathaye may lack some factor but it is actually a family wherein the experience we get is worth thinking over. College management can be improved a lot.

I had taken commerce in 12th and had decided to pursue B.Com. Sathaye college was renowned one and I easily got admission in the 3rd list after as I scored 76% on my HSC boards.

I believe that every course whether it is b.com or BAF or BMS, it is all connected. The subjects are interchanged in all 3 years of degree. 1st-year b.com has maths and those who have taken maths in HSC it's easier for them. It also has business communication wherein English is tested. 2nd year has law which is bit difficult. 3rd year has optional subjects and students can choose different topics (It, export , industrial psychology, tax). Besides, there are different courses available in correspondence with your current degree. The exams are divided and there are 6 semesters in total. Each semester has one internal and external exam ( it's dependent on latest Mumbai University format ) The aggregate of marks are considered while giving the last exam of the specific course (aggregate of 3 years )

No, the college doesn't provide for a professional internship. The college has job placements at the end of the final year but no ongoing internships are actually provided therein.

Yes. The college does provide placement at the end of the final year. The placement is basically for startups as well as recognized institutes. In 2017, ICICI bank visited the college premise and they were providing a job in sales. Salary offered was 15k per month.

There were many events celebrated in college. Utsav is the main festival of sathaye. It is a very attractive event and has many activities. It's in the month of December where student play games, introduce seminars and so on. There is various competition as well.

The fee structure is quite feasible and affordable. The college also provides for scholarships. For the 1st year, a general category has somewhat INR 6000 fees. And as the year increases fees become less. Up to INR 3500 (this is for general category) There are examination fees as well. Atkt fees are from INR 600 (2017) The fees can be paid in cash only (2017)

Scholarships are available and it keeps changing every year so I suppose the college prospectus is best to get such kind of information from. The scholarship is basically available for reserved category students.

I guess there is an equal gender ratio and half of the crowd is maharastrian. Thought we get to see a vast diversity as well. There has been equality in relation to gender roles. Girls are given the same opportunity as guys. There have been girls and boys football team, kabaddi team, kho kho team, volleyball team, etc. It also has a variety of workshops and the college has strict rules in relation to ragging and no such behavior is tolerated.

Sathaye college always brings out the students who have passed out in previous years to encourage the students currently studying. It acts as a motivation factor for many. Seniors also help in festivals and giving ideas.

Exams and labs were not frequent. The timing of college is feasible. The total lectures are for 3 to 4 hours. There is a break for 15 minutes. The timings for lectures goes on decreasing as we enter the 3rd year. Sometimes in 3rd-year, there is only 1 lecture and it is quite suitable for people who want to work along with their studies.

Admission was quite simple.. it's similar to other college admissions. There are online admission available as well as offline admission. The process is quite simple . You need to fill a form for taking admission in degree college after the result of HSC is out and you need to fill the important details and course you need to pursue. Check for availability of the course on college website.After online form filling is done, The college removes the list of students who are eligible to take admission (there are generally 4 list in bcom, the list depends on capacity of available seats) and after that you just need to check whether your name is included in the list. Each list is enlisted after 5-7 days. If your name is included in the list you just need your available documents as shown in the college prospectus(SSC certificate attested , HSC certificate attested , LC , photographs, etc) and date for admission is given wherein you need to pay your fees. You have to pay nominal fees depending on category you belong to. The admission is soon confirmed by the college.

Some of the faculty members are brilliant. their teaching style is amazing. While some lack experience.. overall the teaching staff is very friendly. If there are any problems, the student can use anonymous letter box wherein student can write their complaints and actions are taken to improve them. Sometimes the professor teaches beyond the basic subject which is helpful considering future perspective. Active sessions are quite common wherein teachers and students interact with each other.
