Remarks

My overall experience of being a student of NIT HAMIRPUR is quite good and personally, I recommend it to other students also who are searching for good colleges and the better environment.

Entrance Preview

I took JEE MAINS and I scored 170 out of 360. I opted for this college because my friend recommended this to me and I'm am satisfied now

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is quite well maintained and not as bad as other colleges. In the first year, there are 5 subjects in general for most of the branches and 3 or 4 labs. Then in the second year , it gets increased up to 6 subjects and 4 or 5 labs . Faculties are also fine with us , as some are quite good and few are bad as hell.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, my college my provides internship opportunities to students of the college or outside the college. The opportunity includes a fee of Rs.2500 and 4000 for doing the internship in the college and the college does not provide any accommodation fees or any other. You have to count it upto your own.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are not up to the mark as the college is located in the hill section of Himachal Pradesh and companies find it quite difficult to recruit there as they find it quite difficult to travel in an hilly areas. Still, companies come and recruit

College Events

4

The college has two festivals as cultural and technical fests . The first one happens in the month of October or November which is cultural fests. We students invite many outside bands, DJ's and guest faculties and speakers to speak and guide us . The second one is technical fest which is held in the month of March or April .

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible as we are charged Rs.45000 (roughly ) for the tuition fees of one semester. I think this is quite feasible and one can afford this according to the facilities provided .

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the scholarships are available for students whose family income are below as listed in the inquiry form . Many students whose family income are less than Rs.50000 per annum are provided a scholarship of almost Rs.75000 per year.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is quite good as the campus infrastructure is ranked second among the most beautiful campus in India . The gender ratio is also quite good and no space for ragging as there are strict rules for ragging and one may get suspended in case he is found guilty for ragging and such cases. There are many competitive programs held in the college itself organised by the clubs and societies.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities are quite good and as the summers are not that hot there so there is no need of ac or cooler over there, The food is quite hygienic and quality is also good over there. The room consists of 3 beds till the second year students and then you may opt for singlets in 3rd or from the final year onwards.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are not that connected to us as such but if you are personally connected to them through clubs or your personal recognition then if you may find them quite helpful as students are themselves are quite helpful there.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is scheduled as : First in the mid of the semester we have mid-semester exams which are of 20 marks each, and then we have assignments and class tests of 20 marks also. Then at the end we have end sem exams of 60 marks which overall sums up to 100 marks. And cgpi system is used there for result

Admission

I applied for the JEE counselling and in the 4th round of the councelling , I got this college. I am in the electronic and communications branch and I have completed 3 years of graduation. The councelling consisted of 4 rounds and I got my college in the 4th round itself

Faculty

3

The faculties are fine as some are very good, some are okay and a few are bad or not good in nature. The students have to try on their own as very few faculties are helpful but most are not that much. Faculties here are not a good option for appreciation.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.
