Likes

I liked the location of nit Calicut as it is located on the western coast.
Culture of nit Calicut is also very impressive.
No ragging. As I heard during my preparation that I'm every college seniors take ragging of juniors but in nit Calicut I didn't saw any of such activity

Dislikes

Language barrier. Anywhere, I go like at stores,on bus or at city I have a trouble in talking to people.
Sudden rain. Although weather is very good in this region but unpredicted rain causes me a lot of troubles.
Connectivity. Connectivity of nit Calicut is not too good and for me it's more worse. There is no direct train for me to reach my home directly,I need to change train in midway in order to go home.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choosed B.tech to promote my personal development. Also there is a need and demand for engineering graduates in a developing country like India. Faculty to student ratio is around 20. All the faculties are post graduate and there teaching methods are good enough to make the students understand the concepts. There are exams after every 2 months and it's difficulty level is medium to hard depending on subject.

Class Size: 51Course Fees: INR 110000 per year

Internships Opportunities

As a first year student I didn't get any internship opportunity as of now, I got some but they were paid. But as I heard from seniors and different other sources that many big companies like Microsoft, IBM also provides internships to students at different stipends.

Placement Experience

From the 6th or 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. There are lot of companies around 200 that visits our college and gives a lot of offers around 1200. Highest package stood at 50 lpa and average package stood at 15 lpa.Almost 90 percent of students got placed. After getting the degree I have a simple plan of taking a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fee of the course per year is around 1,25,000 . Being from an economically weaker family I got fee waiver from college to have a financial support. As I am a first year student I do not have an paid internship or job.

Campus Life

Ragam and Tathva are the annual fest and tech fest conducted in month of March and October respectively. In library there are adequate books and journals, enough to gain knowledge of various different fields. There is proper lightening and ventilation in classrooms. College gives us an opportunity to go in a variety of sports like Volleyball, football, cricket, badminton, hockey, handball and many others. There are many social groups and clubs like animal welfare, sports club, GDSC club, drama, robotics club, aerounwired etc. which are run by students.

Hostel Facilities

Facilities provided by hostel are good enough for us. In first year we share one room with three other students, room size is big enough to adjust four students properly. Meal quality provided by the mess is like okay. Registration process for hostel is simple,we have to register by our college email ID in hostel app and after then to pay fee and visit hostel office to take hostel ID card. Hostel is affordable for us because the fees is not too high.

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

Eligibility of course is that you should have completed 10+2 with above 75% of marks and cleared jee mains.Admission was based on an entrance exam named jee mains. Application form is available on website of (NTA) national testing agency.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

Likes

The overall environment here is great. Students coming from different backgrounds make us more capable of meeting new people who have different ideas and that makes things easier,apart from achieving technical greatness ,curtain clubs are here
These clubs gives opportunities to gain new skills and to showcase our existing skills, sports clubs are also present which will help improve skills in sports
Cultural clubs , technical clubs are also present here to aid in your interest

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

college provides nice venue good study environment

Students can get internships from First sem. Students become eligible from 7th sem for campus placement . The average package begins from 15000/- to most highest package of 25000/-. The percentage of students getting paced is 20-30%.I have been planiing to go to higher studies.

Likes

Campus, comparing from nearby college this college had good visual beauty may be because of the college been part 2-3 movies. Visually the college are too good with nature

Dislikes

The Placement is weak as there is no opportunity to get a proper core based job from what you studied mainly job opportunities come from call centres which doesnt require Btech to study. This personally felt too sad to be here to get placed in core.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of the college comes under Ktu syllabus it has already has demerits of the university. Curriculum basically doesnot provide a realworld application uses. Just creates a knowledge on the course (and thats doubt) We need to courses outside the college to get the core jobs outside

The college provides a good atmosphere to truly get a job in the competetive world if we are willing to work for it.
They heavily monitor attendance to make sure that you take your classes so that you perform well in your exams
The facilities provided by the college are good as there are several labs and workshops for hands-on experience

Dislikes

The campus life can get boring and it feels like we are in a rat race.
Some teachers can be a bit apathetic towards the students.
The number events that encourage social interactions in not many

Placement Experience:

The students are elegible for campus placements from the 7th semester and almost all students get placements provided they don't have any subject yet to clear at the time of placement. There are several companies that visit the college for recruiting including but not limited to TCS, CTS,etc,.

The campus is a package pf greenery and the culteral events conducted there are good at the end
The faculties are good and maintain a decent teaching style
The sports activities are well maintained here

Dislikes

The hostel mess and the food is a bit not good from my opinion
The hostel doesn't have adequate wifi to accommodate the entire strength of students residing there

Yes the college is providing placement facilities and the College has its own placement and industrial relations wing that is said to study about the current industrial requirements and provide the adequate amount of training for the students

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. I applied to other NITs and state engineering colleges and received some admissions,but selected this college because I preffered Electrical Engineering. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
