Remarks

I have told everything about my college in all the given questions. The only thing, which I wish to highlight is the absence of on-campus wifi which should be set up in the college because it is necessary for students. I can rate my overall campus life as 7/10 and now that its my final year, I'd want to take every bit of it with me as I graduate.

Entrance Preview

Well, I did not write any separate entrance exam and nor did I take the admission in this college on the basis of merit. I got into this college by ECA Quota as I was good in Extra-Curricular. I did not give any interview because I qualified in my activity which I had applied for. I chose this course because I belonged to commerce background in the school and my elder brother suggested this to me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good and subjects are designed such that students are able to learn from scratch. I personally think that there is not enough focus on practical knowledge, as much as it should be so I think the course curriculum should be updated. I have heard of research initiatives undertaken by other departments of the college, not very sure of my department. We do have some electives in our last year.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know if college provides any internship or not because I got one, already from one of my relatives. Some other friends of mine got their internship from off-campus so I think the college doesn't provide internships. Average department varies from one department to another so I cannot comment on it.

Placement Experience

3.5

I do not have much knowledge about any placements because I have no interest in it as I wish to pursue my M.Com. after it. As far as my department is considered, not many students sit in placement drive because they want to do their post-graduate course. E&Y comes to our college, I do not know about any other company.

College Events

4

Our college events aren't organized at that large level because it's an off-campus college. Aaghaz is our college's annual fest and various competitions are organized under is aegis like Debate competition, Bhangra competition etc. The average footfall is about 1500-2000 and that's really good when it's said that mine is an off-campus college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since PGDAV is a Delhi University college so, the fee comes specified by the University itself. The fee structure is then sub-divided as per the course one has taken. My fee is somewhat around Rs. 15000 per year, however, I feel that it is slightly overpriced considering the lack of facilities like wifi and auditorium.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know if college provides any scholarship because I did not avail any. College doesn't help in getting the loan as it is a government college because they are not allowed to do so. There might be DU run scholarship for all colleges.

Campus Life

3.5

My college is very great in terms of extracurricular and it provides ample of opportunities for everyone who wishes to avail them. Our college's Dramatics society is very active and they have won some competitions in the Delhi University dramatics circuit. Our college has its own bhangra group. The facilities are great.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Our college doesn't have any hostel but there are many PGs nearby our college. I reside in Delhi so I do not really need any PG but some of my friends live in the PGs nearby. The pay varies as per the sharing available and other facilities like wifi and food. The food was average.

Alumni/Alumna

My interaction with my alumni is very nice and they have helped me at every point in time. I have never witnessed any alumni meet yes so I don't know if there is any proper platform for student-alumni interaction. Seniors do guide their juniors whenever they need their help.

Exam Structure

I personally feel very tired because of exams they are very exhaustive, so all in all, I did not find it a chill culture.

Faculty

4.5

Our faculty is highly experienced and they are very well educated. They are too serious about what they teach and at times, they do get carried away in teaching, that makes the subject boring. Some teachers are very interactive and I love them for their teaching methods. All in all, I can say that the standard of teaching in my department is above average.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Although, people say that B.Com doesn't have a great scope to it, I feel like there are many life lessons that we are taught during our college years. Since the introduction of NEP 2020, there has been a rather great emphasis on practical learning. In our college, we are asked for presentations and group projects to promote learning and communication. The presence of SEC and VAC also helps you develop your soft skills, groom your personality and live a happy and healthy life. Exams are help at the end of every semester. There are a few guides and PYQs with the help of which a student can prepare for these exams. They are relatively easy in my opinion and do not require extreme efforts. Overall, it's a great experience and a great opportunity to learn so many things.

Placement Experience:

In the context of a fictional scenario, the placement scenario would depend on the specific college within Delhi University. Some colleges have robust placement cells that facilitate campus placements with various companies. The placement scenario can vary, and it's advisable to check with the specific college for accurate and up-to-date information.
