Remarks

Overall a good management prevails within the college. One will live a golden life here and will leave with teary eyes and a heavy heart. The one thing I like about my college is that AKGEC is a ragging free and violence-free college and there is a discipline committee of the college which takes care of the first year students and ensures that no one takes ragging of them. More or less the college is good for studies and social structure.

Entrance Preview

Well, I wrote UPSEE and JEE MAINS both but scored better in UPSEE and decided to go with colleges based on it. Among all the colleges in the UPSEE counseling, I got to choose only 3-4 of them and since my 12th boards percentage was 91 which is quite good, I got an edge of choosing top level colleges. I had some of my cousins who were alumni of this college and got positive reviews about it. So I decided to stop at this destination. After a counseling process, based on the rank secured in UPSEE exam, my admission got confirmed. A different way of getting into this college is Management Quota and this already known to everyone. I had an interest in coding and stuff so chose CSE as my stream.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of this college is solely based upon the pattern followed by top IITs NITs. Our First-year syllabus was quite good but things got totally opposite from the very beginning of the 3 rd semester. The Number of subjects and their level of difficulty got increased that made the course tough. Students are loaded with a number of practical labs every semester for making things clear. In terms of Electives, I don’t think if any college can provide such a huge variety of subjects to choose from and that can be irrespective of the chosen stream. Overall, the curriculum is doable and not meant for just bright students.

Internships Opportunities

As far as I know the college does not provide any internships. Its all dependent upon the student to find one. But it's necessary to do an internship or an industrial training after 6th semester. My seniors who are doing internships have already given me an idea of how we have to make our CV and how we can easily grab an internship in Delhi-NCR. I have even started looking for some paid or unpaid internship from this semester itself.

Placement Experience

4

Average package of the placements here is 3-5 lakhs p.a. but the highest package is quite low when compared to other Pvt. Colleges in the pool. Most of the arriving companies in the college like TCS, Wipro etc. are for CSE students but somehow, our college manages to bring a handful of companies for other branches too. So, on an average, a total of 66-70% students are placed in a year which is fair. A normal student with a total of 65% throughout can grab the opportunity of getting placed.

College Events

4.5

There are various events conducted throughout the year inviting students from other colleges to participate and win huge chunks of a cash prize as well. Some technical events are also conducted by technical societies, and one inter-college technical fest 'Tech Trishna' is conducted for 2 days every year. A cultural fest ‘Vibration’ lasts for 4 days including various cultural events and fun activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Private colleges all over in India are charging huge amount of money as their fees. When talking of colleges affiliated under UPTU, they charge a little less than what everyone else is charging. The tuition fees are around 1 lac p.a. for every stream. In terms of accommodation charges, it is set around 1 lac p.a. including mess, laundry and bus costs but there are some hidden charges too for college textbooks and security fees. Some fees relaxation is provided to students of SC and ST categories.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are provided to selected students only having a family income less than 100000 p.a. Scholarships are provided by the university as well depending on the score in examinations. For education loans, college has a tie up with some loan firms and banks that provide assistance to students and families at less interest rates.

Campus Life

4.5

There are more than a dozen of college societies such as TAAL, SUR, EUPHONY, PARIVRIDHI and KONATUS which organizes various competition from time to time for the development of the individual student.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, I am a hosteler and it is a good experience so far. Although we girls have time restriction of staying out but we can make our own food unlike boys hostel. I have some friends living in the PG in nearby areas complaining about the living environment and facilities. The college is a little far away from the main town so it is even risky to stay out. So, it’s good to be at the hostel availing all the facilities of the hostel. Hostel fees vary according to the occupancy in the room and i.e 85000 for three seaters, 90,000 for double seater and 95000 for a single seater. Food in the mess is not good. The menu keeps changing from week to week but the quality is not upto the mark.

Alumni/Alumna

Currently, I don't have a comment about the alumni as I did not get a chance to meet any one. But I found seniors were very helpful and I enjoyed a lot with them.

Exam Structure

Examinations here in this college is quite hectic whether it is the checking pattern of answer sheets or frequent schedules of the exams. Checking is not so good as there are always errors in the checking and then you have to apply for rechecking and stuff. Its always tough to score marks in exams as expected. Scoring 70% is enough to get good grades. There are first two sessional tests and then there is a pre-university test, these are conducted by the college and after that, there is the university test that is the final exam and is conducted by the university

Faculty

5

The faculty here is pretty good and most of them are M.tech’s and Ph.Ds and have teaching experience for many years at IITs too. Some of them are trash too! The main focus of teachers here is on numerical problems, problem-solving and totally based on the pattern in the books of international authors. Compared to other colleges under UPTU, this college scores an edge over almost every other college in faculty section. There is never a scarcity of teachers whatever the stream is. The College ranks amongst top 5 colleges in UPTU and all the credit goes to the faculties.

Placement Experience:

Placements are both on and off-campus based. Placements are usually common for both IT and Non-IT students, Technical or Non-Technical. Students become eligible, in their final years to pursue internships or acquire placements. Usually students from Computer Science and Engineering avail more placement opportunities. The Medical Department have more options of Employability. Companies like HCL, Byju's, Extramarks, IBM and other local companies like Stambh Power Systems, Pieinfocomm and others have arrived. But the placement ratio needs to be increased. Off-Campus Placements are more successful. Highest Package can be 8lpa CTC to average package be 2.5lpa CTC, with profiles of assistance and associates. Atleast 30% students get placed on average. My plans are based on Learning in different ways.
