Sports : we have good opportunity to perform fo clg level computation

We have walk some distance to go to hostel
Outside food is not that much good to eat

Iiit kottayam has very good opportunity for placement and skill this is a pure it sector college were we dot got physics and chemistry they concentrate more on skills Student ratio is 3:1 Faculty all are completed their PhD in nit iits They are very good in terms of communication they allowed us to involve in subject they do all labs practice with us About pass : We have 1 mid sem 50 it converts to 20 And assignment 20 Quiz 20 End sem 100 convert to 40 20+20+20 + 40 =100 for normal subjects For lab subject: Mid 50 convert to 20 Quiz 20 Assignment 20 End sem 100 convert to 40 Lab exam 30 Mid assignment end sem quiz convert to 70 Total 70+40 We can pass easy if perform quiz and assignment

From 7 sem we are ready for placement Last year 40 companies 150 plus opportunities 98 percentage of people were placed Highest was 59 And avng 14 till now I will go for ms to get high package And it's better to write gate also

3.4 per year for my batch 1.9 lakh per sem for tution fees 50 to 60 for hostel per sem (it increases every sem) You can get Scholarship from centra through nsp if you sc st only tution fees For obc yearly 12 k For general no scholarship from central government

Yearly one fest monthly one flashmob And they will celebrate all festivals of India onam is biggest festival celebration in IIit kottayam all guys looks traditional with kerela style Sports: their was a intra every year will be played in campus and inter we will go outside any other campus were all iiit will gather conduct sports meet They are four clubs Technical Wildbeats Sports Trendals

Hostel Facilities

Room has three bed. balcony facilities available for every room three lights one fan No attachment for washroom comman washroom Mess: mess is good we have 3 day chicken 2 days egg And milk in morning and evening Registration will be based on arrival of college by you in admission process No rented room available

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

Admission process for the college: We have to clear the jee entrance exam with approx 96 percentile Nta will announce some certain dates to apply for the exam and they will conduct exam mostly on twice a year first attempt on Jan second April. We have opportunity to clear the exam twice and they will consider best of two Reservation: they 6 categories obc,ews,gen,sc,st and PWD obc can get admission with above 95 percentile gen 96 and sc 80 st 80 above PWD 30 Improvement: it's better to conduct 3 times because second attempt most people have clash with board exams

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

I cleared JEE MAINS and on the basis of my rank, I applied for many colleges. I was specifically looking for the top two engineering branches that is Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering and have applied for many but could not get into it due to higher rank category. Earlier I got Civil Engineering in NIT SILCHAR then I got Electronics and Communication Engineering at IIIT KOTTAYAM. I preferred IIIT KOTTAYAM over NIT SILCHAR because of the branch since Electronics and Communication Engineering is considered the second best branch after Computer Science Engineering. Yes, I got rejection from other colleges because the eligibility criteria for those colleges were securing high rank but my rank was not up to the mark. To get into such colleges , students need to clear Jee Mains and secure a good rank to get into such colleges. For general category , students need to get the rank under 30000 to get admission to such colleges. Colleges are listed via Josaa Counselling. Admission procedure is the student need to bring some of the important documents such as 10th and 12th board marksheet , category paper , jee rank and other such important documents to get into the admission procedure. Dark Reality of IIIT Kottayam

The college has a very attractive campus and it is very new so the facilities are also relatively new.
