Remarks

There aren't many remarks about the college other than the fact that the fees is really high.

Entrance Preview

I took the UPES-SAT and secured a rank of 11000. I opted for this college because it provides a technical approach along with theoretical academics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The electronics department here at UPES is really good and helpful. More emphasis is laid on practical approach and building projects and all the faculty is always ready to mentor, teach and support in any way required. The subjects taught to us focus on the future scope while keeping the basics intact and strong.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college does provide internships after the completion of the 3rd year during the summer break. Most of the companies do not provide a stipend but hey! a corporate experience is more important than a bunch of money.

Placement Experience

3

The previous batch of electronics had a 95% placement record and on an average, the salary ranges between 4 to 6 lacs per annum. Many students secure an even better package but one needs to be really hard working for it to happen. Other branches also have a placement percentage ranging from 93 to 97%.

College Events

3.5

A variety of events are held at our college. First is the cultural fest called Uurja which is a 2 day long event having numerous performances and contests like war of DJ's, singing competition, dance performances, band performances, instrumentals and even open mics. A celebrity performance is also booked on the second day of the event. The technical fest is called Ignite which lasts for 2 to 3 days. It holds several workshops and technical competitions including mechanical, robotics, electronics and coding events. Further several student clubs regularly announce their respective events having workshops, technical competitions and fun events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is really expensive. On average per semester fees costs 1.6 lakhs. Each semester some amount is increased. We are charged 21k for the industrial tour apart from the fees and 20k for the personality development classes held compulsory.

Fees and Financial Aid

None is known to have been availed till date but have definitely heard of a scholarship provided to the top students of each branch but still none such person is yet known to my knowledge.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is pretty good here. The gender ratio is also not too bad. The ratio is about 3:7 here. People from different places have come to study here like as far as from Tamil Nadu in the south to Jammu in the north and Assam in east to Rajasthan in the west. Students from almost all over the country come here to study. Even students from foreign places also study here like from Sudan, France and Afghanistan. Open mics and sports meets are held on a regular basis i.e. almost monthly. Our college truly supports and organises extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

I live in a private hostel near the college around 2km. The hostel provides a lot of facilities and good food. We get 24×7 hot water and a very big mess connected to two terraces. Quick electricity backup facilities are available and 40gb of 10Mbps speed internet per month. The food is also very good and the menu can easily be manipulated according to the demands of the students. Outdoor games facilities are also very good consisting of volleyball court, basketball half court and badminton court. Indoor games include boxing, pool table, carrom, and a well furnished gym. The rooms are also very spacious and airy. There are both double and triple sharing rooms in our hostel where I live in a double sharing room.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni keep on visiting the campus on a regular basis and frequent sessions are held for interactions with them where we take guidance and share our problems with them.

Exam Structure

Labs are held regularly accompanied with continuous evaluation whereas exams are held twice in a semester. One is the midsemester exams and other is the endsemester exams. Two class tests are also held each semester. The exams are kind of hectic because we do not any holiday in between the examination days which leads us to continuous studies without break or sleep. As an advantage our exams would get over within a week. Only the hectic exam schedule seems like a burden to us while rest all is OK.

Admission

I received a mail and a call letter regarding the date, venue of the counselling to be held and documentations required for admissions as per the ranks secured. Reaching the venue the event started with the speech of the Vice Chancellor followed by the explanation of respective branches and then the procedure of opting your branch began followed by submission and verification of the documents and the demand draft of the first semester fees.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is more interested to teach. They are always ready to stand by us and mentor us wherever we seek help and guidance. They always help us out and keep us motivated. Both motivational and technical help is always provided. Students can freely undertake projects on their own while the faculty mentors us wherever we require.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspects that motivates me to choose this college is the GFTI'S colleges . Because my father suggest me that govt. Colleges seeks more companies that's why I choose this college . But truth is totally opposite from the reality. Real world application based projects is just given by the teachers in every semester but we students copy it and give it to them from the gpt. College timing should be more less we have to study from 10 am to 5 p.m. Timings of exams are of 3 hrs only in semester . Difficulty level is moderate.

A good number of students get placed. But maximum students of our college opt for higher studies like appearing for GATE, GRE, CAT exams. Some faculty are there to taunt students not to study. They only know how to push down and demoralize anyone. One thing I didnt unferstand why faculty play politics in college rather than teaching students.
