Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is not precise and just like any other education board in India, here things are thought right from their starting or evolution period which is not always required. All the things are taught from a theoretical point of view, enough for the good and studious student to get prepared for GATE examination to enroll in M.Tech. Areas for improvement would be definitely teaching things practically like implementation of real life problem solutions relevant to the modern era which are done with the help of latest technology and not through old school tools which are deprecated. Each semester has two examinations: the Midsems and the Endsems. Midsems is somewhat straight but endsems are fairly difficult and the semester which is originally of 6 months is squeezed into a thick dense 3-4 months one during which is very hectic and things feel rushed.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements from seventh semester. The college has a hundred percent placement record. However, this year it has been a challenge for the seniors due to the ongoing recession and the degradation in the quality of the students due to the online mode of education. Big companies do come for placement. The highest package recorded was 52LPA. Average placement is 6LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is quite large but is constant throughout the program. The total cost of the program is somewhere around Rs 20L. Concession is given to the top 1000 scorers of KIITEE. Different scholarships are available from various state boards and government programs, even in some companies. As of now, I'm a student and haven't participated in any campus employment opportunity.
Campus Life
As of now, while I'm writing this, our annual college fest just got over. Kiitfest is generally held in the first half of the year, with various activities or events organised by the different clubs or societies of the college. The campus life is a peaceful one, with different societies to do the things you like, sports facilities available for the development in the athletics sector. The library is good with various books available for a given subject, and facilities available are good.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are overall decent but expensive. The room has cupboards, study table, a compartment under the bed, etc. The washroom is a public one, which is maintained properly. The food prepared in the mess is okay, with special menu prepared on festivities. The registration and fee payment is through the SAP portal of the college
Admission
The admission examination was KIITEE-2021. It was conducted in online mode due to the lockdown imposed for the then ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Application was filled through the college website www.kiit.ac.in. Application was free but seat reservation was Rs 15000. The entrance was decent enough, not very easy but neither too difficult.
