Remarks

GOOD things , The STAFFS are friendly unless you create some chaos. LAB facilities aren't modern but you can use it. FOOD is good. The SPORTS ground is quite big You get good AC in lab _ yeh! LIBRARY is pretty good . CLASSROOMS are average , no AC. security is good , safety is taken well care. At times the staff act real rude , they don't like when a girl and a boy sit together . No much festival celebrations . There are many clubs , but dedication and time spent is less. You've to come clean shaved , tucked in . and they will give warnings if you don't. The overall infrastructure is okay. Not that mordern.

Entrance Preview

No , there is no entrance exam for this college . You can get admissions via ANNA UNIVERSITY counselling or management quota . I got my admission via management quota . I chose B.E CSE course because of interest in this field , and also computer science department had a good name in this college . For a management quota student the interview wasn't that bad .

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I passed out this year (2014-2018). I had regulation 2013 which was quite outdated , some subjects like data structures , algorithms , operating systems , compiler design , AI , and few are quite useful . But rest of the subjects are not that useful for me . The focus on research is quite less in the first two years , and also no electives too for the same. There's nothing much you can do when it comes to the selection of electives . It depends on the staff and the whole class. If the staff doesn't take that subject they won't suggest you that. But for a better career , it's always better to have external references for subjects and coding . The subjects books (local author) are only good for passing the exam.

Internships Opportunities

No , in my case the college had done nothing to provide students internship. The students had to try out on their own for internships.Even after getting internship , you will have to get permission from the principal if you have to take leave from college for completing the internship . You won't get much leave and support as attendance is the priority. the overall experience was OKAY , hope it improves with the new regulation .

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are decent , in terms of the number of companies coming , the packages that the students are being offered. This year around 414 offers came and some 90% of the students were placed . FYI out of the 90% students many were placed in BPO companies. Infosys is usually the first company to recruit students , also students were placed in companies like zoho , hcl , paypal , juspay , prodapt , and much more. the average package offered overall is around 2-3.5 LPA going upto 5 .

College Events

4

The odd semesters consists of the technical events . COGNIT is the technical symposium or computer science department and it has usually around 1100 more participants from all over chennai , also from TN. Festivals are not celebrated in campus . College clubs like Rotaract , YRC conducts regular activities and events . Sports day is another not that interesting day with less participants makes it boring.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As the college board says ," No capitation no donation" The college fee is affordable when compared to the other colleges . I'm talking about management quota . For a management student the fee comes around at an average amount of 80,000-95,000 per year including fee , food , books , placements . For hostel students around 60,000 for a year. It's feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

No i didn't get a chance to apply for a scholarship but there are many available . Some which government provides also for jain student there are some good scholarship .

Campus Life

3

Campus life is okay . But if you have good friends then it's pretty awesome.Gender ratio could be said as 1:3 girls to boys . There is no discrimination according to religion . But if you are a non tamil and you don't know tamil you'll find a difficult time at first . There is little tolerance when it comes to a boy and girl interactions , you'll get warnings if you are seen sitting together even if that person is your sibling or cousin. There are many workshops conducted , also there is a cell for entrepreneur development . There are no political issues here . You cannot find much students from a rich background. And honestly i never felt any discrimination based on the economy status .

Hostel Facilities

3

For students coming from far away , i'd recommend the hostel for the first year and max for the second year . There is 2 sharing rooms and an 8 sharing dormitory. Student will be provided with a cot , a cupboard with locking facility . The rooms aren't modern but if you can give a look on your own and like it then it's good. Washroom is common on each floor , washing machine is there and also a provision for washing on own.The hostel fee is around 60k which is feasible. In case if you are looking for a PG outside , then there are a lot of PG for both boys and girls with an average rent of 4000 to 6000.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors , if you know anyone well you can interact with them and get good experience . There is not much or ragging on campus. Once you know them they interact quite well and help you out in figuring career or curriculum related issues. If you are genius then you can do things on your own , but with their experience you can do better.

Exam Structure

In a semester you will have 2 internal assessment test which are of 50 max marks. Then comes the pre final exams which is of 100. Its not that hectic and an overnight study is enough to pass. Coming to the toughness of the exam , the questions are mostly direct . lab sessions for a subject come once in a week and for 3 hours in a stretch. There is only one assessment test for lab sessions that is the pre final . Labs are mostly chilled out .

Admission

The admission form for the management quota will be available directly from the college . Pay an amount of Rs.500/- for the form. Once the form is submitted along with your mark lists , you'll be given a date for the interview . The administration side of the college was average , the college officials speak mostly tamil . Once your admission is done then you'll be notified about the college opening dates at the last moment via call or sms . Yes being an outstation student it was quite difficult for me to reach there at a short notice . But this was the case in 2014 when i got my admissions done.

Faculty

3

Most of the teaching faculties here are assistant professors with mostly masters degree and some have done Phd. Few of the staff in cse have a good knowledge in latest programming trends , some theory oriented . Many of the staff are interested in taking their subjects and we can feel that when they eagerly want to share their knowledge .

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
