Lush green and beautiful campus and the College life
Architecture of the College well furnished labs and workshop
Hostel are good as compared to other college hostel

Dislikes

In timing of the hostel and Mess food is not that good
Classes are too long majority classes starts from 9 am
Faculty is not that good and the work load is quite high.

Course Curriculum Overview

As a student in 1st year the course curriculum is not that tough in first year. The faculty has good knowledge of the subject but lacks in teaching but some of the teacher are quite good in teaching the subject. There are 2 exam in each semester mid semester and end semester. Exam are not that tough.

Internships Opportunities

Student are eligible for internship in third year but some of student crack internships in second year . Student get internship in Google Microsoft Amazon etc some student cracked Gsoc and there are lot more opportunities for student.

Placement Experience

From 3rd year student are eligible for placement. Majority of companies do not visit the campus because of the location of the College Placement are not that good but decent highest package is from off campus placement Majority of students get placed in final year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is 62500 for 1st sem and hostel fee is 46000 And for student belonging to SC/ST category tution fee is 0 only they have to pay the hostel fee. Student can apply for scholarship through NSP portal there are so many scholarship for Btech students.

Campus Life

Campus Life is quite decent at NIT Hamirpur The campus is lush green and beautiful. There two fest in a year cultural fest HILLFAIR held in October and Technical fest Nimbus in March . Fests are good to explore new things. Library is not that big but quite enough for student. There are two lecture One is fully digital. Sports facilities are not that good There are many clubs and societies for students.

Hostel Facilities

As a student of 1st year we get Kailash boys Hostel there are 5 Blocks (A,B,C,D,E) majority of the rooms are three seater but E block has 4 seater room. Every room has almirah study table and chair Mess food is decent .

Hostel Fee: INR 75000 per year

Admission

I am studying at National Institute of Technology Hamirpur Admission is done on the basis of JEE MAIN(exam is conducted twice in a year) rank through Josaa counselling and CSAB counselling I got Admission in Mechanical engineering branch. I belong to SC category the cutoff for SC category Is 85 percentile.

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college
Faculty is polite and very helpful and kind

Dislikes

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
