- Big and clean campus along with all services provided inside the campus like general stores, cafe, restaurants .
- NIT is nationwide reputed institution and offers good placement.
- Good connectivity with market. Campus is 10-15 min away from the town.
Dislikes
- Hectic schedule. Classes are from morning 9:00 to 5:00 in the evening.
- Less facilities and lack of research facilities.
- No railways or airway facilities are available nearby.
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year curriculum focuses on overall basic understanding of all the core subjects irrespective of the branch. From second year onwards, the cirriculum is based on the branch of the student. The cirriculum of civil student ranges from CAD/CAM to dams. The cirriculum helps in clearing government exams like ssc and also offers chance to get placed in private companies.
Internships Opportunities
Reputed comapnies provide intership opportunities. These interhip are conducted during summer months of the academic year. There is also placement and training cells which helps students to get ready for inteships and placement.
Placement Experience
NIT Hamirpur like other NIT's is reputable institutuion and provides good campus placements. Companies like Google , Amazon, Flipkart , TCS visits and offers placement. Many students gets placement worth more than 1crore LPA. Students are also placed abroad. After getting my ug degree, I plan to persue higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of course per semester is 80000 and there is no hike in the fees. Scholarships are availabe along with financial assistance for people belonging to poor background. Also students loans are avilable via SBI bank which is in the campus itself.
Campus Life
NIT hamirpur campus is beautiful and clean. Thre are various cafe and restraunts inside the campus which are afforadable. There are various clubs like pixonoid, public relations, etc and club involvement is one of the integral part of campus life. There is a auditorium which can accomodate 2000 students . There are various events throughou the year involving cultutral fest and technical fests. There is projector in every lecture hall and in addition to that complete smart classrooms are also there.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is safe and clean. It provides 4 time meals a day. Rooms are big and shared by 2-3 roommates.All the rooms also have attached balcony. Almeriah, beds are provided by hostel only.There are always 3-4 guards on duty ensuring security of hosteller. Fees is also affordable around 25000 per semester.
Admission
NIT hamirpur offers seats via JEE main examination.I got 92.4 percentile in 2023 April Attempt of JEE main and got admission in UG btech program in NIT hamirpur civil department. I applied IN JOSSA counceling after the JEE result and secured seat in 4th round. JEE main examination is easy to moderate level examination depending on the session. I availed home state quota in the process. 50% seats are reserved for the students of Himanchal Pradesh (or have given 12th boards in himanchal)
