Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum in first year remains same for all branches. Onwards Second Year all branches study their core subjects. In Electronics branch it is a mix of core Electronics subjects and Computer Science subjects with one or two or some minors of other branches like Mathematics and Physics. The curriculum prepares for real world applications as electronics items are used by us every bit. The curriculum includes MEMS Design, VLSI,Integrated Circuits, Digital Electronics, Analog Electronics, etc. We have to give one Mid-Semster and one End-Semester each semester. There are a total of eight semester along the four years. The improvements I will suggest are inclusion of more industrial application and removal of outdated topics which have been updated and replaced by any other technology.

Internships Opportunities

5

The Training and Internship cell provides internship to studetns. The students are otherwise eligible for Internships from 4th semester onwards. Many of my seniors in the society in which I am got Internships int their 4th semester but for that you need to work hard make projects and apply for them yourselfs.

Placement Experience

3.5

The campus placements are going with a mix of good and bad news. Students which had really good skill set found there way to bang big packages but average and below average students found them struggling as the ongoing recession and mass recruiters not recruiting new recruits this year. The highest package was 1.7 Crore. The companies which visited the campus include LatentView, Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd., Cisco, Escorts Cubota Ltd., Genpack, Renata Precision, Microchip Technology Inc., Bajaj Finserv, Technip Energies, etc. .

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees remains same for every year as it is funded by Central Government. The government decides the fees for every NIT. There are some exception in GFTIs. The hostel fees are controlled by the college authorities. The complete cost of my education is roughly 6 Lakhs. Here we get deduction in tuition fees if the family income is between 1 Lakh to 5 Lakh and family income below 1 Lakh. The category with income between five to one lakhs pays 41933 as tuition fees per semester. The category below 1 lakh pays around 20 thousand. Apart from this there are many scholarship which are given by Central as well as your respective State Governments. A very popular one of this is the NSP scholarship. Talking about campus employement I was a part of Esports club during the first semester and currently working in a Technical Society.

Campus Life

1.5

The campus here is lush green with lot of trees and green air. It is 300 acre campus in which around 100 to 150 acre consist of trees. The Annual Technical Fest is NIMBUS which generally helds in April or May. This year it is going to be held in 12 to 14 April. The name of Annual Cultural Fest is HILLFAIR. It is generally held in the month of October. This year it also held in October. Talking about technical books they are available in large quantities but journals or novels are reallly less. The technical Provisions which we get just include display of results Online and recently scanning system of our ID card at only main gate not in hostels. The sport facilities are really good. We have a really big ground with areas to play cricket, lawn tennis, volleyball, football, etc. But the problem is the seniors are extra strict in the ground. There are many student-run clubs ranging from Technical and Non-Technical. Here we also have NSS and NCC. We don't have good food in campus.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

We get one almirah, one bed, one chair and one table. The good things about room is for summers we have two sidefans and one ceiling fan. But in WInters the room get really cold. I advise to go to library in the night during your exams as it has heaters which may help you for late night study. The hostel registration process is done just after course registration process. The meal quality is not great. You wil be flooded with rice. Chapatis usually comes when you have already eat half of your food. We have five blocks in the hostel. The biggest one which have eighteen rooms on five floors and four rooms and every room consist four students, whereas other blocks approximately ten to twelve rooms on each floor where each rooms have three students.

Admission

The Seat allocation process happens through JOSAA councelling. One have to give JEE Mains to be eligible for seat councelling and also get a minimum of 75% in 12th boards or equivalent for General/OBC and 65% for SC/ST. The application form you will find on NTA website or JEE Main website. When talking about physical councelling, it is not a hasle process but it is quite lengthy. It takes roughly three to four hours to do the complete process. It happens in Auditorium. The JEE Mains exam happens twice a year one time in January and second time in April.

Interview Experience

5

No I didn't face any group discussion or interview process for admissions in the college. There is no such criteria for that. The writtem exam which I gave was JEE Mains examination. After giving JEE Mains I gave JEE Advanced, but to get admission in NIT Hamirpur your percentile should be enough foravailing a seat according to your category.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.
