The college is filled with greenery all over.
Placements are very nice.almost all the big companies visit here.
The faculty is very well trained, most of them have done phd from iits.

Dislikes

Reservation should not be there. everyone should get equal chance.
There should be no time boundings for students to roam in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

NIT hamirpur is the only NIT with btech in mathematics and computing. The course curriculum is superb. we have been taught things like python, c programming which are best suited for the industry. the exams are modrately diffficult and there are exams like midsem and endsem in every 2.5 months. the teaching method needs improvement, it should be more digitalized. overall it is the best institute.

there are a lot of internship oppourtunities, everyday dozens of students get selected for internship for many good jobs in the industry. companies like apple, samsung, dell, etc regularly hire studnets of nit hamirpur for internship and also provide them pre- placement oppourtunities. projcts related to AI and machine learning ar trending...

Placement Experience

students are eligibe for placements from 5th semester onwards. 95% of the students who sit for placement are placed with 100% satisfaction. companies like samsung, apple, sony, tcs, tata automobiles, mahindra, dell, acer and asus. this year only a student from computer science engineering grabbed a package of 1.71 crores. a student from engineering physics grabebd a package of 1.3 crores in sector of quantum computing.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees depends upon factors like your category ( general,obc,sc,st) and the family income of the candidate. generally the total fee ranges from 5 lakhs to 8 lakhs. The financial aid which a obc student recevies is 60% off in their tution fees and the sc and st students get complete off in tution fees. I have taken part in electrothon and won a prize of 10k rupees.

Campus Life

there are a lot of events going on in my college. we have the annual cultral event- Hillfair. participants from all over the india come to our collge to enjoy and explore their interests lying deep down. the classrooms are superb. and are equipped with projectors and excellent quality furniture. we have an annual sports event an annual technical fest also. there are a lot of activities going in our college

Hostel Facilities

our hostel are just superb. Boys of first year are alloted rooms in KBH( kailash boys hostel). meanwhile girls are alloted in AGH( ambika girls hostel). the rooms are triple sharing. they are equipped with fans, tubelights, beds, and wardrobe. the mess food is so deliciious and the servers at the mess feed us like our mother. they are so caring. hostels are super affordable.

Hostel Fee: INR 150000 per year

Admission

You must have qualified jee mains for getting admission in the prestigious institute of national importance, NIT hamirpur. the application form is available on official site of NTA ( natioinal testing agency) the application fee depends upon things like your category and family income but usually it ranges from 2000 to 6000. there is 28% rservation for obc and 6 % reservation for gen ews class.

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college

Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
