Campus is really nice , the weather is also good here
Faculties are helpful, most of them teach really well

Dislikes

I feel the time table is really packed.
In lab sometimes they don't have working equipments, ic's not working or either the breadboard and it really irritates
75 % compulsory attendance, not just me but no-one likes it

Electronics and communication engineering is going to be in high demand in coming future because of the semiconductor industry boom in india that's why i took this course. We have one mid sem and one end sem in a semester.

Placement Experience

Its the 3rd year when the company starts to come in college i won't say many companies visit but decent amount of companies do visit. Companies that visited this time were cisco, Genpact , escorts Kubota limited, microchip ,oracle, bajaj ,latentview and u can find more by following the training and placement cell nit Hamirpur on LinkedIn

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester the fees is 760000 for general students and for gen ews its 35000 per semester for sc and st its much less. Category reservation are also there Companies do come here for on campus placement.

Campus Life

The campus is very beautiful. Library is also there . We have nimbus our technical fest and hillfair as our cultural fest well they are not that good but it's fine. Lalkaar as our sports fest .we have various clubs in which students participate according to their interest

Hostel Facilities

In first year we got a seven seater room and each one of us were given a table ,chair ,bed almirah. In second year we got an option of choosing between two seater and four seater room (which is given according to cgpa). Mess quality is fine not bad but also not that great. The hostel fees depends on semester,in 1st sem we paid 40k and after that in even sem its 25k and in odd sem its 35k Hostel also has common room, reading room and a badminton court

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

Took jee main exam for getting into nit Hamirpur.application form was filled online . Physical admission was done here in the campus. Itself.If you have 97-98 percentile you will easily get ece branch here.

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college
Faculty is polite and very helpful and kind

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
