PESIT South Campus, BE, Computer Science And Engineering

Reviewed on Oct 29, 2017

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is fine but we lot of theoretical subjects than practical subjects, information science have a lot of opportunities like iot, data science, python programming for data science and many more opportunities,we have 6 theories and 2 labs,so we focused very less on practicals,we had various elective options.

Internships Opportunities

Yeah college will provide internship,we will internship from PESIT main college, still now I have not able to any kind of internship,I am planning to do internship in big companies,Internship will provide you with good practical knowledge,Internship fees will be more

Placement Experience

4.5

We have large number of placements, the placements are divided with PES main campus and PES south campus, both the college get placements together and done at 1 place,PES main campus is 1st top college in engineering,so most of the companies visited this college.

College Events

3.5

I had been 3 years in this college, every year they conducted 10-15 events, big fests and many more. All were organized well and fine.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I joined through COMEDK,fees was little bit high than cet ,totally I paid 1.7 lakh per year,it was not much affordable as through cet the fees is only around 65000-75000 rupees, but I was fine for me,got good college in comedk, that is the advantage of comedk, comedk exam paper was easy than cet papers,so it is easy to score,so you will get seat in good college.

Fees and Financial Aid

No idea about scholarship,I have not applied for any type of scholarship till now,Noer I applied for any education loan, education loan can be done through banks.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel infrastructure Is good ,my friend told they got good rooms with best facilities,Food is also good in our college hostel,Pg food is not too good it seems.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are little bit strict in our department. They give knowledge about our growth and how to develop our India, what type of projects we can do,how was their life when they were studying, how to study for exams, how to score in exams, how to give good presentation in exam, all this thing they tell, as they r strict they are interactive also. Standard of teaching is better.

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

the library which is very peace and silent
average places to take photos and nearby there is nandi hills to visit

Dislikes

i dislike the distance of the college, its too large, should walk soo much
the cost of stationaries in the general store
i dont think so faculy are that much expertise , only countable people worth it

Course Curriculum Overview:

see i have choosed this course because it is very relatable to CSE, coz my ranking was not sufficient to get this course. the course which i took "Information Science and Engineering" is really a good course. they make us real world engineers. the area they shld actually improve is, hiring worthable faculty.

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

The real truth about PES

I applied for NITS, IITs, and Bits. I couldn't clear JEE advanced. I cleared mains and Bits, but I didnt get desired NITs and desired Bits and branches.I chose this college rather than other nits because of the Bangalore exposure you get. I had jee percentile of 97. I chose this college because of the exposure it provides and the curriculum and constantly improving placement and internship opportunities. I wasn't able to clear other exams due to personal health reasons. There are 5 types of admissions. Pessat- The rank should be below 5k to get any branch in the college preferably below 2.5k for cse, but this mode is not there from 2025. Jee mains- above 97% percentile. Kcet - below 5k for the general category, below 12k for obc, and below 30k for sc st. The admission experience is hassle-free and Pessat counselling takes place offline....Read More
