Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Definitely the subject of chemical engineering is interesting. It is more of Physics and mathematics than the chemistry part. The structure of the course was great and was the reason that involved ourselves into the course. We definitely had more laboratory sessions and Industrial visits to organisation like ITC , ONGC which had more real time experiences. There are minor areas of improvement like more of ppt mode was choosen to teach. The exams were moderate to hard level and are conducted every month as a Minor/Mid (2minor exams,1mid, 1 end in every semester)

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities are provided in 3rd year.Based on the interest of students they are open to choose the roles they want for.In chemical, 60:40 is the ratio for core interest students to Non-core interested students. Though it is chemical engineering, many software and analyst companies are open for chemical like Oracle, Saaplabs etc. Core companies like ExxonMobil,Dr Reddy's are open for internships etc provide an AVG stipend of 50k per month. Based on the performance of students in internships they extend the offer to fill time.

Placement Experience

4.5

The students in 3rd year are eligible for internships opportunities and final years are for FTE offers. The internship can be upgraded to FTE offer based on the performance of internship.Around 92-93% of eligible students were placed last year and top core companies are ExxonMobil,BPCL,Adani,Dr Reddy's 60-70% were placed in core companies and 30-40% in Non - core companies. The placement statistics are excellent in chemical dept after the Circuit branches.Software placements are also good in chemical with 30lpa as highest.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee was same in the four years of my course(125000 per year). But the service fee was increased for about 2k.Definitlty there are merit scholarships and income based scholarships. Merit scholarships is provided by college itself which waives off the tuition fee. There are other scholarships like NSP which are provided and supported by Central government.Stipends are provided for PHD scholar students.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life is excellent in NIT Warangal. There are two fests known as Spring spree which is cultural fest and technozion which is a technical fest. Both are one of the top most fests in South India. The library facility is excellent and is 24/7 open for reading.Every classroom has a projector for ppt presentation and is comfortable for capacity of 120 students.Sports are highly encouraged through tournaments and are frequently conducted.Inter-Nit students are encouraged for participation.Clubs and department societies events play a huge role in campus Life.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are many hostels in NIT Warangal. There is double occupancy for 3rd year students and single occupancy for final year students. The mess food is okay but not up to the mark. But the administration is looking into it.Every semester the students have to register and pay the hostel fee.The hostel condition is also okay and can be renovated.

Admission

I have opted for chemical engineering course. The admission process is through JEE main score.A minimum of 97-98% percentile is required to get through the course and college. There was reservation for EWS,OBC and ST/SC and also 50% for home state students.I felt the admission process should be fast as the academic year got disturbed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
