Course Curriculum Overview

3

The reason I choose this course is because of the global pandemic COVID 19 the biochemists during the pandemic had done a great job in finding the cases in terms of testing using RT PCR;Indian medical needs to be strong and future ready for the upcoming hurdles to be faced. The curriculum mainly focuses on research purpose rather than the job applications it influences mainly to focus on PhD and research departments which is subjected to each student of his/her own situations. The areas of improvement needs to be focusing on practice work as equal as theoretical works. Providing campus placements, internships and project works available for each and every student irrespective of their academical scores. Because if you stop a student not giving projects or interships based on their academical scores then the department is responsible for the downfall of the student's career. The academical year time table is ridiculous and since we joined lately the academical pressure is humongous on us

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fees for the university is high according to my opinion since it's central university the fee structure is little bit high Sem 1 - 23k Sem 2 - 3k Sem 3 - 14k Sem 4 - 3k The hostel fees are a total of 40k The scholarships provided are based on which state the student belongs to since their own states provides the respective scholarship for their students The campus doesn't provide any internships and the project work eligibility is top 50% in the class which I've never seen in any university and this leads to the downfall of the student's career. There are certain teaching jobs for some students which doesn't have a career growth if you ask me *Note that this data is only obtained from the department of Biochemistry and molecular biology in Pondicherry University The rest of the departments provide projects interships and few provide Campus placements for ex : MBA department The semester exams fee is acceptable and there is no extra charges from the academical side!.

Campus Life

2.5

The events in the university were only organised by the students itself faculty will only help in providing permissions. Some faculty will encourage by giving some funds by their own salary. Students should themselves seek for sponsorships from various companies etc The sports club is above average according to my opinion because the grounds and courts in the university are not maintained properly and for some sports there are not sufficient playgrounds Some sports are also discouraged in the university The campus is quite large and eco friendly but the maintainance and development is below average according to me Because the roads buildings infrastructures are not maintained properly The wifi is the slowest ever considering such a renowned University basic things such as wifi, shuttle service etc are unsatisfactory The medical services are also above average with limited staff The hostels and mess are worst in the campus. The food is worst which is the problem with everyone in Campus

Admission

Eligibility of the course is minimum 75 % in the 12 standard for BSc Biotechnology For MSc cutoff marks is 253 and since I had a good percentage in UG then I scored good in CUET I got selected in spot admission in Pondicherry University Before I joined in Central University of Kerala on the basis of my Marks in CUET and Good percentage in UG Application fee for PG will be around 1000 rupees it is fully refundable and if we got the seat this will be included in the first sem fee In PG admissions I have got the seat because of my SC reservation if we provide latest caste Certificate they will consider our reservation thereby providing us the admission As of areas for improvement Admission process should be fast and reliable Because we have completed our CUET exam in September and we got shortlisted in November and got the seat in December and January.Seriously because of this the academical pressure on the students of our 2022-2023 batch has been literally humongous!.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because it was rare. Not many colleges offer this course. So the certificate has its value. Curriculum doesn't necessarily prepares you for real world applications, but you have to opportunities to develop skills. You can work with phd scholars , they are all very friendly and let's you work with them and learn. The curriculum could be improved by introducing more about fisheries, currently the syllabus focus on oceanography, biochemistry and other laws or policies.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd or 4th semester, students are eligible for placement. Placements are not that much expected but you can get a chance from outside the university. I want to do PhD in this course in future. For a job in this field, you have to be trained first so internship and lab works are important.
