What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is very good for roaming with friends and enjoying the sunset while sitting in food courts or playgrounds ,Kiit has a playground where you can regularly play football if you want also the location of the college
- The location is perfect as you can get and buy anything near the college which is a very good thing
- If you are lucky enough to get good facilities then it's very good for you as they will make the subject veryyy easy to understand
Dislikes
- Mess food has to be one of the things depends on hostel to hostel in general I would say average at best but sometimes may be below average
- Most of the faculties are not that good ,very boring style of teaching only reading from ppts
- Favouritism towards people from Orissa might be present in some teachers and there's nothing you can do about it
Course Curriculum Overview
Placement- That depends on your branch. If you are from core branches like mechanical and civil, dont expect too much from KIIT.You will most probably end up working for some IT companies. If you are from other branches then also you will get placed in IT companies. So in short whichever branch you take, you will get placed in IT companies(0.9 probability). CS/IT gets placed the earliest, the reason being obvious. Faculties(I am going to answer by the common practise of calling teachers faculties)- you are pretty much on your own. If you want to get good CGPA you have to stick to the professor's notes and learn through trial and error the way to answer that will fetch you more marks. Some teachers need long pointless stories to give you marks, some need to the point answers. The mid-semesters exam will give you a very good insight into how to answer. If you want to actually learn something beyond the scope of the syllabus, you are pretty much on your own.

Campus Life
Life in KIIT is very happening. You won't realize how time passes here. I really enjoy whenever I am here with my friends. Everything is good here- from hostel to mess, classes, curricular activities, events and so on… Classes and labs will keep you busy for few hours otherwise you will have lot of time for fun and self study. There are many recreational clubs such as robotics, debate, painting, sports of various kind, dramatics, nukkad, theatre, modelling, designing, dance, NSS etc. You can get into maximum 5 clubs of your interest areas. There are also sports complexes which offers high class gym facilities and swimming pools. Basketball, tennis, volleyball courts are also there. Hostel life is fun. Facilities are good and AC is also there. You also have different types of hostel depending upon which seater room you want such as- single seater, double and triple. You can choose a non AC or an AC room according to your convenience. Fees are according to the type of hostel room chosen
Admission
Firstly you have to give a kitee exam which stands for kiit entrance examination,There are diff cutoff marks for different branches with that of cse being the most ,Also if you can get your desired percentage in first attempt don't worry there are total 4 to 5 attempts ,You can go there website named kiitee and find the admission form dates and opt it for free there,I can't remember if there was any reservation benefits but that might be the case ,also the total exam was of 3hrs in my case from hobe with a laptop with the cam on ,the question level was not that hard but if you are a bit knowledgeable and studious you should be easily able to secure good marks in it ,Overall I think the admission process is a bit flawed as in the later attempts of the exam the cutoff for your preferred branches drop a lot result in lot of intake of students which results in competition, Anyways overall it's not that bad but I'd suggest not to keep kiit as first option and go for the govt colleges first
