What Students Say
Likes
- Campus, infrastructure and the greenery. Social life is really good here.
- Facilities are good. They do support you when needed.
- Sports and other extracurricular activities.
Dislikes
- They give priority to the Odia people here. Too much biased for a North Indian.
- The summer weather is too hot. And the classes for the evening time consist of useless breaks.
Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the course curriculum from 7 to 8. In the curriculum, they do teach you things other than coding and computer languages. This includes workshop, communication lab etc. This course is really interesting because of the computer thing. We learn things about computer and making websites and many more. The curriculum prepare us for the real world by providing internships or the society or clubs we have in our university or college. They help us to improve in our communication skills and increases our confidence. I would suggest that there should be more and high level intership opportunities availability so that students can learn and compete with each other. The exams occur very frequently. We have only 1 to 2 months gap between mid-sem and end-sem. There is no gap between the exams i.e exams occur without any preparation leave in between. Exams are not that tough. They are of medium difficulty. Thanks!
Internships Opportunities
Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Samsung, Microsoft etc are the companies available for the campus placement. They provide internships with stipend upto 50000. The opportunities of the internship are good in the college. Many companies mass recruit students from here.
Placement Experience
From 5th or 6th semester, students become eligible for the campus placements. They are provided with various internships. Companies like Amazon, Samsung, TCS, Wipro, Microsoft etc visited. Last year almost 100 percent of the students got placed. Highest package of 6500000 and average package of 500000 were offered. Percentage of students getting placements is between 80 to 90 percent. My plans after getting the degree is to get atleast 1 or 2 year job experience and being financially good and then pursuing M.Tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee for us is 192000. But it has increased to 200000. The university do provide scholarships for the students scoring percentile over 90 in KIITEE and having CGPA above 9. The complete cost of the education is around 2200000. The scholarship amount for the student is 10000 which is provided to them every month. I haven't undertook any employment yet. But I am looking forward for it.
Campus Life
The overall campus experience is good. The KIITFEST happens for once a year and other society or cultural events take place almost every month. The KIITFEST held in February. There are varities of books and journals available in our central library. Every facilities are provided in the classroom. I would rate the classrooms 8 on the scale of 1 to 10. KIIT provides many opportunities in sports and extracurricular activities which is offered by campus and it will be a joy to be a part of that. We have societies run by students that helps to improve skills and being social.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is medium. Not that good and not that bad. Currently I Live in KP7AB which has non AC as well as AC rooms. Meal quality is medium. We have menu which consists of various items but in dinner they provide paneer most of the time. Biryani on Friday. A mail is sent to every student through which a student chooses his preference for the room type. Rooms and hostel are provided on the preference and the availability.
Admission
The admission process consists of an entrance exam and then counseling on the basis of it. The eligibility of the student is on the basis of the percentage he/she has scored in class 12th PCM subjects. A student should have scored atleast 75 percent in PCM subjects in class 12th. The entrance exam i.e KIITEE plays an important role in counseling for the preferred branches. A student should score 80 percentile in KIITEE to get the top branch i.e CSE without any inconvenience. The application form can be found on the KIIT website and all the other information about fee and application dates. The KIITEE has 3 to 4 phases. The timing of exam depends but the difficulty is in between medium to hard. I would suggest that, the admission process should be done as soon as possible because it takes almost 2 to 3 months for the students to finally come to the University. Thanks!
