Likes
- my college has very good and experienced faculty .the teachers are friendly and they even assists us in our queries outside out course which is very helpful during placements.apart from these the infrastructure is also up to the mark with garden ,etc
- the infrasturcture of our college isvery good .we have airconditioned classrooms as well as they are big and airy .we also have a garden, common room,library ,reading room and canteen.we even have a cafe area for students to sit and relax.
- the placement of our college is very good.cognizant and tcs are the top recruiters .apart from that microsoft,wipro are also the recruiters .highest package package offered was 30 lpa and average package was 7-8 lpa.
Dislikes
- some of the rooms are not air conditioned which creates problems during attending class in summer.also the cafe area has some internet issues and internet do not work properly therewhich is a major problem if we are compelled to sit for long hours.
- though our teaching faculty is very good but some professors are very strict and they compel students to attend their regular classes which hamper the self study of those students who have to travel a long joueney to come to attend classes.
- apart from these we do not have hostel facility of our college so the students who come from very far are compelled to rent private pgs and mess for living which is a problem
Course Curriculum Overview
curriculum covers all aspects of computer engineering from hardware to software which opens up wide field of jobs for me.in addition it also paves the way for learning ai and ml which are blooming industries these days without much competition. so this course in short cretaes wide job opportunities for me.the only problem is with the exams but it has nothing to do with the college as they are scheduled by the university. we are almost forced to give trimesters on our semester syllabus and so the exams become difficult.
Placement Experience
though our college do not have internship programs but it encourages students to avail these programs off campus.but ur college has on campus placement opportunities and students manage to find a stable job for themselves from companies like cognizant , tcs,wipro,etc from college.the professors also assist in off campus selection. so overall job and career opportunities are very secure and wide for students of nsec with an average package of 7-8lpa and highest of about 30lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
in the year i took admission the total fees was 5.5 lacs which an average of approx 1.26 lac per year.we have pay fees before starting of semesters so once in every six months. the college does not have any scholarship but the students of west bengal get scholarship from the gov of wb which is nearly equal to fees of one semester.campus employment opportunities are given by the college and students can either join the administrative or the teaching faculty. the average salary offered is 6-7 lpa
Campus Life
the college life is fun here.there are many clubs which organize various types of events all round the year which keeps us engaged apart from our academics .while the technical workshops enhance our technical knowledge the cultural programs keeps us fresh and enthusiased. every dept holds an annual dept fest which is celebrated with great pomp and show. aprt fro these we also have annual college fest mesmerize and a fresher party every year .we also have an intra college sports competition called zest and we even participate in inter college sports and various others cultural events. our college also promotes social welfare and has a partnership with rotary club and outer college club s called rotaract .we also encourage students to join air force of India and we even have an ncc wing in our college. so overall college life is very nice at nsec.
Admission
we had o appear for wbjee or jee mains for admission .aprt from these there is a donation quota for direct admission .the jee cut off was 90 percentile while webjee was not very high up to 20000 rank.it does not have reservation benefits and for admission we have to be physically present in the college .the administrative process is smooth and there are people to assist with the forms ,fees payment methods ,etc.the only thing I did not like is that they did not have online admission procedure.
Faculty
all of our department hods are PhD holders, even some of our professors are PhD holders. while the others are assistant professors with a teaching experience of more than 10 years . we also have some assistant professors with less than 5 years of teaching experience but all of them are skilled in their fields there is a average of 60:1 student faculty ratio but they are friendly in their approach to teaching and mentorshipwhich creates a healthy environment for the students to explore themselves.
