About Kalinga Institute of Industrial technology

The college should work more on the training and placement department and need to improve the placement scenario especially of the core branches.

The course of our college is not that vast as that of IIT colleges but still, it covers a lot of courses which is beneficial for our placement point of view...There is a total of 8 semesters in 4 years of B - tech. In each semester, 100 marks are allocated for each subject which also includes practice exams. Out of 100 marks, 20 is provided on the of unit test, 30 for Internal marks and 50 for semester exams.

The placement scenario of our college is not quite satisfactory. Except for CSE, all other branches placement scenario is very bad. Talking about my own branch, nearly 40% of the students are only placed and rest are not able to get any placement.

A lot of events is celebrated at our college. The most important one is our KIIT fest. It's one of the biggest fest taking place in the state of Odisha. Many big celebrities visit our college for different events. Apart from fest other events such as Kritarth, Kiit MUN, Kiff etc takes place which is very terrific and provides us for taking part in different competitions.

Firstly 75K is taken by the college at the time of counseling which includes the fees of different kinds of stuff provided by college i.e laptop, blazer etc. Then 150K is taken as fees for one semester only. Then comes the fees of hostel and mess.

The college provides a paper regarding loan at the time of counseling which mentions about the fee structure and loan related subjects. I provided this paper in my nearby bank and my loan was approved.

Life at our college campus is very good. The college has one of the best infrastructures of all the universities in India. A lot of plantation is provided in the college which is very good. Also, the gender ratio is very good in our college. The ratio of boys: girls is 1:3. In some branches, the number of girls is very less as compared to boys especially in Mechanical and civil.

The rooms of the hostel are very lavish and luxury. It provides the facility of an attached bathroom which is very good. Study table, chairs are provided for study purpose. The balcony is provided for the fresh air to come in.. At the ground, the floor mess is provided for having our food. Warden and guards are allocated for the security of the hostel. CCTV cameras are placed at every corner of the hostel.

The alumni network is not very strong and useful in our college. Owing to a large number of students in the university, one can't differentiate who is senior and who is junior and thus there is no interaction between seniors and juniors and thus seniors are not helpful.

Firstly we have to give the college entrance exam. After the result of entrance exam is released, rank is provided according to marks. Then they call us for the counseling in which seats are allocated in different branches according to marks. Forgetting CSE, our rank should be under 4K. Students whose rank is up to 30K is called for counseling. After counseling is done, seats are provided in different branches.

Some of the faculties of our college are very good but some are not up to the expectations.. 70% of the professor is good and 30% are not satisfactory. Some the faculties are IIT graduates and hence provides a great deal of knowledge... In all the classes projector is provided which makes the professor to take digital classes which are very useful.
