Course Curriculum Overview
The logical thinking and the requirement of a mathematical and scientific approach were the aspects that influenced my decision to choose this course, the curriculum is at par with what is taught in engineering all over india. It is quite immersive that we have basic electrical engineering, mechanical and civil, with of course c programming in the first year with basic chemistry, physics, and english that acts as a bridge course between school and engineering. Midsems and Endsems are conducted for every semester. A semester is 4 months long on an average and the exams are equisapced. Online quizzes are conducted for internal marks through google forms
Internships Opportunities
High Radius, TCS, Tech Startups hire students and offer internships with and without stipend; for different roles like software development, front end, back end, projects. Several non-tech options are also present for marketing, graphic designs etc.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible to appear for PPOs and campus placement from their 5th and 6th semester in college. Multiple big companies like Adobe, Bosch, Lenovo etc come for campus placements. However because of the recession trends recently the percentage of students that are placed well is low. The average package is 7lpa, thr highest being 50lpa. My plans are to work for a couple of years after the degree and then decide if i want to switch or get a master's degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is 1,90,000 per semester for CSE. The complete cost of the course is 15,20,000 which is only the tuition fees. I Scholarships are available for students who score under 100 rank in the university entrance exam. This scholarship pays you 10,000 per month.
Campus Life
I would give 10/10. The annual fest KIITFEST is very grand, it consists of several events over three days, concerts, dj night, coding competetions, singing, dancing etc. The central library at KIIT is a state of the art facility, the library is of 8 floors which has a comprehensive range of books for all courses and for leisure reading. The classrooms have ACs and smart boards, the conditions of the academic blocks are excellent, the labs are also very well equipped. The sports and extracurricular activities that are offered at campus are of A level. Different socities and clubs are also present for students to engage and partake in activities of their interest.
Hostel Facilities
Cupboards, tables, mattress, pillow, chair are provided by the hostel. There is an option to choose between AC and NON AC rooms. The hostel mess provides food that is of good quality, it is better than a lot of other college's mess. You can apply for the accomodation, mess, hostel through the college website. PGs and Rented rooms are also available in the locality.
Admission
The college conducts an entrance exam called KIITEE, they also accept JEE mains percentile. You can find the entrance application form on their website, it is free of cost. The difficulty level of the exam is at par with the other exams that are conducted by universities like VIT, SRM, it is easier than JEE. Exams are conducted in multiple phases.
Faculty
Each class has 80 students so the ration is 80:1, we have different teachers with experience in their respective fields, in first year the teachers are allotted by the university so it is quite upon your luck. Second year onwards you can choose your own teachers which makes it easier and better for you to have a good learning experience in class. Teachers ae quite approachable and friendly, you can visit them during office hours, each class has mentors for issues which are not related to academics.
Other Applied Colleges
Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
