Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is based on totally understanding the engineering and science behind the computer. This helped in taking the decision to select this course. This curriculum helped me to understand the basics of it and can never be back in any of the unknown situation because it covers everything that i should know about the real world applications. The exam timings are well arranged as after a month of starting the course we have minor exams then past 25 days we have mid exams. Again after a month we have 2nd minors and at the lst we have end semesters. As there are no restrictions on minors as that is totally dependent on the professors on how they want to take exam or give the assignment or the project work. The difficulty level if the minors are take are high and even in mid and end exams 30 % are hard only and rest we can write and easy are just 10%. So overall the course are tough.

Internships Opportunities

2

The internship is available if you have academically scored minimum 6 CGPA with no backlogs. For me I was not eligible so i could not get in the internship opportunity. The companies like Microsoft ,Dell ,Meesho , Flipkart ,Uber, etc.came for Software Engineer intern.First fix and focus on the academics never believe on other things like you can get intern or placements even with no cgpa.

Placement Experience

3

The campus placements for interships are from the starting of 3rd year it goes upto the end of 3rd year. And for Full Time employement (FTE) it is from the starting of 4th yearwhich goes upto end of it.If anyone interested from the starting they can contact the alumni network or the professors to get the internship from the the 1st year itself also but it will be offcampus. There are around 200+ companies visited to the campus. The highest package for 2024 is 92 LPA and average for 2024 is around 10 LPA .But before recession it was 20LPA .The students placed was around 55 % of 2024.My plan is now i am doing intership of 6 months and trying to get placement through alumni network next year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee for me was 10,000 as i am an ST candidate .Generals have fee structure more around 70,000 for tution fees. The hostel fees are same for all aroung 26,000 a year. It was increased in 2 years and it was 27,000 at my last semester. Those with Economically backward class also has scholarships and have less tution fee.I have taken the NSP scholarship which may give around 50,000.My complete education cost is 1,06,000 .This includes the tution fee10,000 (per year) + {hostel fee 5000 + other fee( seat rent 3000 + electricity&water 5000 ) per semester.}.There are stipends available for M.tech students who have passed the GATE and scored good otherwise no.Campus employments are available by the professors to do on their project work .

Campus Life

4

The annual function of NITW is called springspree.Which was conducted on april 4 to 7.It has lot of fun and DJ nights. There is also Technical event named 'Technozion'.which showcase the technical skills and abilities of the students on different projects and future vision on different technologies.NITW library contains more than 60,000+ books which are related to the courses and the best versions of the subject books.Library runs by new technologies where no need to do the paper work u can directly take the book or return the book.It also contains the digital library where 60+ seats are there to learn on online mode with the latest PCs .The classroom contains the projector and also thypical classroom. There is google classroom where we directly submit the work or assignment given by professors and can only be accessed by the NITW students. The sports culture is also good and InterNIT competition are held.there are dance ,music, business clubs.WSDC is our official student portal .

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel room is shared by 2 person that includes two beds, two chairs and tables. The meal is given 3 times a day morning 7 to 9 lunch 12 to 2 and dinner at 7 to 9 . Mess has also their app which is used to enter in mess .The menu is kept in the preference of all students coming from north to south .Girls mess is almost good and u can eat most of the times . The registration for that was easy and done in hostel office. It was affordable as most needs are covered.

Admission

You need to Clear the JEE MAINs with good rank. For the Home state the range for the rank is between 541 to 1739 and for the other state in NITW range is 616 to 1167.Now for the female (other state) this differs also its between 2217 to 4000.for Home state female it is 575 to 2934. The JEE MAINS application form is available online and fees for that is around 2000.The dates for. the exams are around january and april.Reservation candidates have their seperate ranks which gets selected that too with high ranks. This is easy exam if you have prepared for 2 years properly and revised. The difficulty of exam is reduced as the questions are now somewhat overlaped from past years. The admission process is through JOSSA which takes 7 rounds and at last other round takes place where you can select your college and at last CSEB round takes place where u can get the chance to improve your branch on the same college and other government colleges.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ration is 1:12. This can improve a lot for learning. The Faculty recruited have already done their Phd. And after that they are given the asistant professor .They do require a lot of experience to become professor. Their interviews are taken by the Respective Head of the departments, Directors and many of the professors currently working. So there is no doubt about the faculty credentials and their teaching are amazing and making students understand the topics .They take out the precious time beyond the working hours if we need help .We often have interacted many times with the professors and got really good help in the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
