Course Curriculum Overview

3

I am in the Electronics and Communication Engineering branch and I would say there's great many things to learn here. We are taught from basic things like Analog electronics to advanced things like VLSI system Design etc. Although there's still improvements to be done here as advancements happen in this sector every year so we need to cope up a bit with the out dated curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

3

Many companies came to our campus in the 3rd year for providing intenship opportunities. Companies include: Amagi Labs, Altair Engineering, powerschool, Microchip, etc. Most of these companies come for the software developer role. You need to have decent amount of projects in order to get eligible for them and also you don't need to have any standing arrears.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are quite decent here. Last year around 900 companies visited our campus and the average CTC was around 9 lakhs per annum. Around 75% of students get placed and the others go for higher studies. the highest CTC was 1.02 Crores per annum. I plan on getting at least an 8LPA Ctc placement for college otherwise I'll prepare for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Regarding the tution fees, VIT employs a category system here from Category I to Category V. In this way, even the low scorers of the VITEEE exam can get top branches by paying more fees. I am personally in the Category II paying 307000 fees. The tution fees hasn't increased since I've been here as such. The complete cost of my education is around 17 Lakh including the tution fees, hostel and mess charges and other charges

Campus Life

4

The infrastructure provided is decent in the college, it's a very green campus with trees everywhere. Although in my Chennai campus there's a great deal of construction work going on here. The library is quite big with 3 storeys with fully occupied AC. We can find most of our curriculum related books here. The extracurricular activities are decent, we can join any club of our choice. I was myself the creative head of the cultural club in the college called 'CULTURE IT'. Our cultural fest is called 'Vibrance' and it happens in March every year. This year Shreya Ghoshal came to our college and it was an enjoyable experience. Our Technical fest is called 'TechnoVIT'.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are decent. I live in the 6 bedded AC room with special mess. The mess quality is good on certain days, and average overall. The hostel registration happens at the end of every semester on the student portal called vtop.

Admission

For admission in this college I gave the VITEEE exam which happens once every year. I gave the exam online in 2021 due to covid outbreak. You find the exam form in their website viteee.vit.ac.in. The exam fee is around 1350. One thing that I'd like to see getting improved is that the administration is not much transparent with regards to cutoffs and results. Some people say that the ranks are provided randomly and not based on how you have performed in the test

Faculty

3

Most of the faculties (90%) are PhD qualified who have great knowledge in their subjects. Although there are some blacklisted faculties who fail students. The faculty to student ratio is not as good as some of the top IITs but it's still manageable. Many of the teachers are quite approachable and you can go to them to ask your doubts but most of us don't do so.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
