- Clean campus and lots of plantations inside the main gate
- Friendly teachers and often provide extra classes for clearing doubts
- College uniform is not mandatory from second year onwards
Dislikes
- Non AC laboratories in physics and chemistry
- Buses are available only for staff members
- Top floor has no AC classrooms. So during summer, the heat is unbearable
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is simple and well distributed over the 8 semesters. The load and pressure of subjects or topics are comparatively less allowing students to do extra curricular activities apart from academics.
Internships Opportunities
Being a first year student, I am currently unaware of the internship opportunities. From what I have heard from my seniors, the placement cell organises field visits to various technical organisations in which they have to complete a project report based on the topics provided to them.
Placement Experience
The placements are advertised to provide 4.5 LPA average package. About 90% students get placed in good companies. Even if they don't get placements, they can pursue MBA for another 2 years and get placed later. Also students can give GATE for higher education after completing BTech.
Fees and Financial Aid
For every course in this college, the entire fees for 4 years is about 4 lakhs 50 thousand apart from hostel fees. Among the scholarship schemes, the SVMCM is applicable to all the students. They can further contact the student cell of the college for further assistance in this matter.
Campus Life
There are numerous events being hosted in the college campus. Two main events are the technical event that typically occurs in the month of March and Cultural fest that occurs in the month of January. Apart from that, college seniors organise fun events that involves quizzes, coding competitions and aptitudes. Students participate in teams and there's prizes for winners.
Admission
Admission process was simple and well organised. After the declaration of my WBJEE rank, I contacted MCKVIE admission cell via phone and got all the required information regarding the documents I need to bring in for verification, etc. The process was over within a single day. Students just have to bring their documents and rest of the procedure will be discussed on the venue.
Faculty
There are plenty of faculty members for every departments. The teachers always try to help the students, be it problems related to study or project works. They also provide sufficient study materials for students to help them get good marks in examinations.
