Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

In first year it's same like any other universities you will be taught Basic mechanical engineering, basic electrical, computer science and practicals like welding, foundry and others. From second year you will be studying your chosen course which is mix of both practical and theory and it won't be helpful much in placements because the curriculum taught has parity from job world unless you are preparing for GATE or core sector jobs.

Internships Opportunities

4

Approximately 150 companies visit to provide internship opportunities each company in taking nearly 3-4 students, majority of positions available for students from circuital branches. Students from other branches can seek internships outside the campus, as it is mandatory for each student to complete atleast one internship. Companies that visit our campus include Adobe, Microsoft, NXP semiconductors, Tata steel, Trident and others. The highest offer was 100,000 and there are no unpaid internships on campus. Companies focus on any real-world projects completed by students.

Placement Experience

4.5

DTU provides some of the best placements, outperforming even some of the NITs. Almost every company recruits students from DTU, including Google, Microsoft, Palo Alto networks, payTm, Bain, McKinsey and more. For mechanical and civil companies such as L&T, Tata Motors, GAIL, EIL, Bharat petroleum, MSIL, and Honda are regular recruiters. Approximately 80-90% of students secure placements, while the rest pursue competitive exams or higher studies. In the 2023 placement season, nearly 1864 offers were made across various sectors. If student is unable to secure an on-campus placement, they can utilise DTU's extensive alumni network to seek opportunities outside the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Course structure for B.Tech:- FY23-24 : 2,29,000 FY24-25 : 2,36,700 FY25-26 : 2,46,700 FY26-27 : 2,66,700 Available scholarship:- Merit-cum means for EWS students( currently on hold) Post-metric scholarship (for SC/ST) Financial assistance scholarship (DTU own scholarship) Campus employment:- Very good placements Good internship opportunities

Campus Life

4

Cultural fests at DTU are among the best, with the annual fest, Engifest, held in the first week of February. This three-day event features popular singing stars and allows students to unwind and have fun. Yuvaan is a smaller version of Engifest, organised every November. DTU has the largest library, housing over 300,000 books, which can be issued for a semester but not all books. The classrooms are equipped with projectors, are fully air-conditioned, and have a tiered seating arrangement so even students at back can see the board clearly. There are numerous societies focused on both tech and non-tech activities, such as UAS, which researches unmanned aerial vehicle, and Deltech Baja, which builds off-road vehicles, as well as round table for debates. Also in research overall DTU is good.

Admission

To gain admission to DTU, one must pass the JEE-MAIN exam. The cut-off scores vary by course, with higher thresholds for circuital and computer branches and lower ones for non-circuital branches. Additionally, candidates need to fill out the JAC-DELHI form, indicating their course preferences and submitting an initial percentage of the fees. Applicants with reservations (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) receive preference in admission and scholarships.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the faculties in DTU are 50+ age and very few are middle age so their method of teaching orthodox they don't try new method of teaching as they are getting paid by government and no student questions also, sometimes they don't even come to class. Approchability of professor is pretty average as very rare professor will be sitting in their room and faculty to student is very less won't be able to quantify.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
