Entrance Preview

There are many reasons behind it. And the first one is that it is quite near to my home. Being an institute of national importance with great infrastructure and environment, NITH is one of the leading engineering colleges. Also because of less score in JEE Main, I wasn't getting the branch of my choice in other top colleges . RK reviews

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is quite good. You will find subjects interesting. Though some topics seem to be obsolete.B ut as it is handled by MHRD, hence it is updated when the MHRD feels to change the course curriculum. Industry exposure is expected from the third year of graduation. RK reviews

Internships Opportunities

No, our college doesn't provide an internship. There's no internship program so far. However, there are regular visits by students of Government Schools, as per initiative by the government of India and Himachal Pradesh. RK reviews

College Events

Apart from academics, NIT Hamirpur is famous for its cultural and technical fests too. There's a cultural fest known as Hill'Fair and a technical fest known as Nimbus. Apart from these major events, there are other events too. They include events by Hindi Samiti, Cultural heritage and music, Unity Run, Sports events etc. RK reviews

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure has a stark contrast between the upper and lower limits. It can range from ?25,000 per semester to approx. ?1,00,000 per semester (Hostel fee included ) Few structures are based on income and category. If you are in a category other than General and OBC-CL, then you'll get a concession at all cost and Doesn't matter if your income is in millions or billions. Campus Life

NIT Hamirpur has one of the best infrastructures among all engineering and medical colleges. Wi-Fi enabled campus, well-equipped labs, AC classrooms, big playground for cricket, lawn tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton and indoor games like snooker, table tennis, etc. are available. There are gyms and laundry facilities for each hostel. The food quality is good. Being in Himachal Pradesh, its environment is quite clean and pollution free. RK reviews

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are well furnished and facilities are up to the mark. Every hostel has the facility of sports and entertainment. Laundry service is also available. Mess food is prepared according to the menu decided by students residing in that hostel. Veg and nonveg both are available. RK reviews

Exam Structure

Exam structure is not flexible. There are mid-semester exams, assignment submission, presentations along with final exams. Labs are according to the course. Classes can start from 8:30 AM and end at 5:40 PM.

Admission

The step begins with cracking JEE Main exam with sufficient score. After results, JoSAA ( Joint Seat Allocation Authority) offers you to pick colleges and branches according to your preference. You'll get college according to your preference, provided your All India Rank / or category rank meets the requisite criteria. They will ask you to accept the seat in that college or you can decline it and continue for next rounds of allocation. Website of JoSAA will provide all the information regarding admission. Counseling details will be updated on the website. During counseling, you are supposed to bring all the documents and seat acceptance letter. This Institute is not like a private college. Being handled by central government, the faculty members are excellent. They are highly qualified and friendly with their students. In classrooms, there are projectors and boards to carry out the teaching process. The student-faculty ratio is better than most of the colleges.RK reviews

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college

Very less internship and placement option
Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

the fee structure are affordable for any one and hostel are also very cheap
they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

Dislikes

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

Placement Experience:

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The faculty and staff are well qualified appx. all are phd .
The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

Placement Experience:

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
