Likes

the location of the campus, lush green surrounded by the view of mighty Dhauladhar range of Himalyas
Faculty is well qualified and has a great sense of teaching
Coding culture , NIT hamirpur has one of the best coding culture

Dislikes

infrastructure is very average and needs to be rennovated
sports facility , there is no great facilities . we only have a Student Activity center which has decent facility which are not upto the mark
gym. There is only one Gym in Student Activity Center . Only two hostels have the gym facility

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is changed now in accordance to the new education policy and is now better and is designed so as to make the students indtry ready. The frequency of exams is twice in a semester . the difficulty level tanges between medium to hard

Internships Opportunities

College provides an Intern drive . but most of the companies that visit are of IT sector . They only offer intern to CS students and circuital branch students . for core branches there are very less opportunities available for the students

Placement Experience

NITH has a good placements for the computer science branch and the average package for computer science branch is 14-15 lakhs per annum. for the core branches it is not upto the mark. the average package for the core branches is 6.8 lakhs per annum . although the percentage of the students placed is pretty high

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure has been now changed . Now there is a rise in the tution fees . Now the Per semester fee is nearly 80807 for general students and for OBC. For SC and ST students there is 75% fee waiver . For PWD students there is 100% fee waiver.

Campus Life

Campus life of NITh is pretty good , i would say one of the best in north india . there is club for every field . there are clubs for dancing , singing , literature, coding and robotics etc. college has a NCC unit of each wing

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are pretty decent and are well mantained . overall food quality is good in each hostel. there are total of 9 Hostels in NIT hamirpur. Hostels donot have Wifi facility . the Hostels are affordable

Hostel Fee: INR 35000 per year

Admission

Admission is done through JOSAA . generally the cutoff ranges from 7000 to 48k for the outside state students and for home state students it goes all upto 3 lakh if you belong to some category. And there is no separate exam and GD for the admission

The faculty is well qualified in their respective field and have immense knowledge and are always ready to help the students. the facilty to student ratio is 1:25 . The curriculum is designed according to the industry standards

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Campus is very good and nice view from college

Very slow wifi speen and only 1 gb per day

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

they also help student to build cinfidence as many event are there so a person can loose his stage fear
the support of teacher for students is very good

i would say that the computer labs are not in very good conditions
the computer are not even advantageouos for aiml student
the infrastructre is not that good even no wifi facility

so as the first batch of cse ai ml is going to passout this year so there is no record of placement but hoping that their placement would be good as per teacher's expectations and also they provide intership in iit mandi

The junior senior interaction is good .
There is good coding culture and all senior all helpful .

Dislikes

Area of college is 15 km from una city .
The curriculum us hectic in each semester it has atleast 6 subject.

My college offer above good placement . About 85-90% of the eligible student get placed with median package of 9 lakh and average of 11 lakh . Our placement incharge is Nistha Hooda. Highest placement is of 60 lakh and minimum is 4 lakh

Likes

Hostel fees is quite less despite providing many facilities.
Mess food is tasty and campus is small but clean and beautiful.
Curriculum is up-to-date. Teachers are helpful and friendly.

Dislikes

There are many unnecessary restrictions in hostel.
Sometimes you have too wait too long for food in mess.
Less events are organized and sports infrastructure is not too good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are average , it totally depends on the students skills and their cgpa. From 5th sem students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Redhat vistited the campus and made more than 200 offers. 171+ companies visited. Highest package is 1.11cr, average is 6lpa. 70% students gets placed. Planning to go in tech related jobs in industries after getting the degree.

I like the campus, there is greenery all over the campus.
Sports and cultural clubs and the festivals
very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment.
