Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have always been inclined towards biotechnology and there are a very few colleges that offer biotechnology at bachelor's level and mount carmel is one of them. The curriculum is as such that they cover every bit of syllabus which is under UGC norms and since MCC is an autonomous college it has the privilege to conduct the exams according to its own schedule. We have 2 internal exams and 1 end sem exam per semester

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies offer internships to fresh grad students after completing their bachelor's degree The minimum stipend is of 15k per month which is really good amount for a freshly passed out student. The project includes Research work Marketing Lab work

Placement Experience

4.5

The college offers campus placements Students are eligible for placement from 5th semester There are plenty of companies that have visited mount carmel college and every year a huge amount of offers get made Companies such as biocon , biogen and etc have visited the campus and hired the students based on their marks and cgpa I plan to pursue master's after completing my bachelor's degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete cost of my education will be around 6 lakhs and the college does provide financial aid in different quota There is an army quota, a special quota for catholics and many other The college provides campus employment but after the masters degree

Campus Life

4.5

The college conducts a lof of fests that i cant even keep a count of. There is qul ah , freshers, cultural day and so many The library is accessible to everyone and it has a huge collection of books and journals The classrooms are well equiped with black board and smart board for presentations Mount carmel college has a sports association which has basketball, volleyball, throwball and others

Admission

The admission process was really simple. I had filled the form online and we were selected on merit basis. There are some courses which conduct an interview before admission but for my course it was purely merit based There are 2 internal exams and 1 sem end exam per semester I feel the area for admission is quite good

Faculty

4.5

I feel the faculty is very well educated and for every 20 students there is 1 teacher. The teachers are very student friendly and we can contact them any time we have a doubt Biotechnology teachers are very well educated and they go into the depth of the topic for better understanding.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
