It is not a place with a fancy campus or canteen. It's in its budding stage.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is quite a bit vast for those having a slow reading speed. Thus, it was difficult for me to make a transition from a NEET-oriented to a theory-oriented exam. This field also involves finding a balance between study and non-study hours. It was difficult in the early days for me to figure out which books to follow. I liked AETCOM being added to the course.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 140000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Currently I have no idea of the internship opportunities. But since ours is a TMC (municipality) hospital, there is a good patient load and internships are quite hectic. It gives a good patient exposure.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Total fees were around 1.4 lacs this year, subject to a hike with each year. However, students can apply for the EBC scheme and get a 50% reduction in their fees. I do not have much idea about the stipend offered.

Campus Life

Our college has fests like Inauguration, Abhiyaan, Abhivyakti, Ranaangan, and Funfair. The library is really good and has good availability of books, journal,s and technology. We also have a mentorship program that helps connect students from different batches and the faculty. As for now, we haven't yet got to participate in many of the cultural events, they are around the corner, excited to participate in them.

If you've got a seat in this college, make sure to check the college website where the pdf of application form as well as fee structure is available. Get it confirmed and take the documents with the dd ready to the college. The process of admission will be completed on the same day.

The faculty-student ratio falls in the best category, and teachers do provide individual attention. There are some teachers with high qualifications, but are very welcoming and always approachable. However, I did not find the lectures very effective. But during practicals, individual attention is given.

The most likeable part would be studying mbbs at very low cost and the hostel is good with low fees
The faculty presence in each dependent and their excellence
The overalll administration of the whole college

Dislikes

The distance of hostel from the hospital
The facilities of the hostel are sometimes inadequate
The departments are very much understaffed

Overall the college administration is very keen on following the cbme pattern of teaching which is quite good considering the part where they involve integrating practical and clinical skills with each subject as far as possible.

The campus is decent. There is turf for playing cricket football and all. Hostels rooms are good, well some of them are. Cleaning is done every alternate day by the cleaning staff that’s a good part
The college building is not the best but not the worst. Teaching is like every other college of you pay attention you can study in class else you are on your own. There is a library and 2 reading halls, one for discussion and one for individual read
Best thing about college would be the departments are really chill about the attendance. If you are low on it they’ll let you compensate. But do try to attend whenever you can😁

Dislikes

Mess is really bad. There are limited options available apart from the hostel food and those options aren’t really good either
Department’s labs need improvement there is shortage of microscopes and the ones that are already there doesn’t work especially in the microbiology department

High patient load and small batch size makes internship very tiring and hectic compared to other colleges
Current administration is not supportive of extra curricular and co curricular activities like exchange programs and fests
Poor research culture, very few opportunities to do good research

The course is standard for all MBBS courses. There are theory lectures and practical classes. Hospital exposure begins in the second year onwards. Current revisions in the course like introduction of logbook etc are unnecessary and time consuming.

Faculty expertise and Teaching quality most teachers are from other Institute of National Importance (INIs)
Campus life and social interaction. The boys:girls ratio in my batch is 4:1

Dislikes

Gender ratio is 4:1 which is very less for an INI
Academic pressure is too much. Students are overburdened with the academics here.
Music room is very small and instruments are less. Fundraising here is needed at this hour.

The admission procedure is via the NEET merit list based on rank and marks. I chose this college because I wanted to remain in Mumbai and the missed the other colleges by a few marks. Compared to other colleges, my college has a smaller batch size, which allows better patient exposure and individual learning. I had given my NEET exam in 2018 in which I got 445 marks with the all India rank of 47465. The application process was so easy. You just have to go to the NEET site recognized by the government of India and fill out the form for the counseling after the results are out. After the completion of the form call all the students who applied for the undergraduate seats for a document verification process. The document verification process is held at a regional level as my verification process was in Nagpur. After the verification is done, The merit list of the approved students is provided at the site. The first selection list is followed after that. There are a total of 3 selections list given by the organization and 1 mop-up round in which students are selected for the remaining vacant seats after all the selection lists are out.
