Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because i just wanted to get placed in a company and earn money but my perspective and thought process changed after i came to this college and i developed a keen interest in the subjects and now i want to pursue the higher education in my field. The curriculum trains us the both ways i.e., in the perspective of placements and higher education. Faculty guides us throughout the course and prepares us to choose the best path for our future.

Internships Opportunities

4

I am a second year student so as of now i am not currently engaged in any internship opportunities and also not prepared for the one at current time. But as i have seen my seniors doing internships in various companies and IITs, i am pretty sure that i will also get one when i become eligible.

Placement Experience

4.5

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements and internship opportunities. They can also apply off campus for placements if they are not interested or satisfied with the college placements. Students can also prepare for exams like GATE, UGC NET etc. as there is lot of free time for students. They can also work on there startup ideas. Almost 80 percent students get placed in my branch from campus placements with an average of 9 lpa. My plan is to pursue higher studies after the degree as i am interested in the subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is regulated by the government as it is an institute of national importance hence it is purely regulated by the Indian government. The overall cost of my course will land upto 7.5 lakhs including hostel and mess fees. There are many chances of scholarships for the students by the government itself. Although the college does not provide any kind of scholarship other than tuition fee waiver according to the reservation. Also, college helps in the internship opportunities after 3rd year and in the 4th/final year.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is pretty good with two annual fest held each semester. One is Hillffair which is conducted in odd semesters where students are free to show up their creativity and extracurricular activities. Another fest is technical where students form clubs where they make futuristic projects and also get funded if their project shows the potential future or the scope to the judges. Many more events are conducted throughout the year by various societies and clubs. One of the major technical events is electrothon which is a hackathon where students from various colleges throughout the country take part.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel accommodation is good in considering the safety of the students. Also, hostels have indoor game courts for table tennis, badminton, etc. Hostel rooms are also in good condition and you get enough space to live comfortably. However, the rooms are 3 or 4 beds which can be a problem for some people. The quality of food is okay, it's not very good for you if you are not a local resident. Hostel registration is quite easy and is done along with the admission process. The hostel fee is 40000 per semester which includes all charges and mess charges also.

Admission

The admission process was very smooth. As I reached the college I was given the guest room where me and my family rested for some time and then we went for the admission process in the college auditorium where the whole process was conducted very smoothly and there were people to help us in each step to conduct the process swiftly.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. In my branch, it is 1 per 4 students which is quite good in a government college of national importance. Also, the overall faculty-to-student ratio ranges between 1 per 5-6 students. The faculties are also very highly educated and have industry working experience. Most of the faculties are postgraduate or industry-working engineers with at least 6+ years of experience. Interaction with the teachers is good. Teachers talk with the students in a friendly manner and also listen to our problems whether they are educational or non-educational. The institute also runs a program where a teacher is appointed to 4-5 students and they talk about all sorts of life problems. So overall interaction with teachers is very good.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.
