Likes

Good Infrastructures, cafeteria space is enough.
Mentors are good and the way of teaching of teachers are also good and easy to understand

Dislikes

Lack of Fest, Cultural Program, nothing much
Everything is okay but one thing I don't like that's Language(Bengali) because it is difficult to understand to those students who are from other state
Overall it is good except lack of Cultural program and use state Languages.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Information Technology because It it the mixture of Hardware and software. Every Company first preference IT/ CSE students and I'm also interested in this Course. One thing I would say that there is no doubt the way of teaching methods of teachers but improve to Teach new skills like Web development, machine learning etc.

Placement Experience

Placements of my college is Average means 500000 per annum average and 1800000 per annum is highest. Placement of this college is increasing day by day. From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies visited:- Accenture, Cognizant, TCs, etc. Percentage of students getting placed is 80%. I want a job in Reputated company and day by day I'll improve myself, my skills and achieve a reputated post.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise I pay 154875. Library fee= 10,000 Medicine fee= 9000 My batchmate fee is same as mine.This college provide us Scholarship like NSP and any state Government scholarship like I'm from Bihar and I'm applicable for Bihar Government education Scholarship. This college also Provide many other scholarship

Campus Life

Campus of this college is No more large. If you want big campus then this college is not for you. There are 18000+ books are available in library, books related to knowledge, develop skills, develop Communication skills, Novels, stories books, motivational books ,Success stories and journals are also available. There are Ac in every programming lab and Theory classes has smart boards , personal desk. Our college Organise Every year sports. If you are on social platform there is no affect on your student life but if you get addicted on those things then there will be problem

Hostel Facilities

In my opinion hostel facility is too good. There are 4 hostel for girls and I think 5 hostel for boys. 1 girls hostel is in College campus and other 2 is Just infront of the College and one is little bit far in the comparison of other college and boys hostels is also little bit far means approx 500 meter. Hostel provide us breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. There are 4 bathrooms on every floor and each have shower, geaser. I think college hostel is better than other PG/ flats and hostels. Because it is Affordable and if you want to get a pg then that are costly than college hostels

Admission

I applied for this college and two or three other colleges but my first preference was this college and I Got a seat in this college in first round. I didn't get rejection from any other college. Admission process is very fast. You should carry your all documents and you get admission easily

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is enough and too good. There is no doubt. Faculties to Student relationship is also good. I you have any query you should go and ask them, they replied you very politely( They are most Humble and polite). There are no one faculty whom I don't like them. There are two slots and 1 exam per semester.

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

Likes

In my batch there are 64 student and there is only 17 girls.so the girl boy ratio is good.
This college has the largest campus of all the college in the West Bengal so college campus is really good
As I am a student of information technology so they are teaching me the course subject and also soft skill subjects that can help me in my placement journey

Dislikes

The college is located in rural area which is the bad thing
The course curriculum is not at the level of IIT NITs as we are studying some subjects which are introduced in the late semester which IIT and it and study in their second or third semester
The third thing I don't like is that the Student of the college discriminate among each other like the local residents who are bengali's day prefered their friend as Bengali

Placement Experience:

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

The college provides a moderately good infrastructure so it is more or less good. However some lab equipments have gotten old so upgrading those would be appreciated.
The teachers and students are very friendly so interacting is very easy. Teachers are mostly experienced and quite knowledgeable in their field of expertise. However the college follows the curriculum suggested by makaut which feels outdated.

Dislikes

The college doesn't give any options to play anything in college in their free time so that's an issue in my opinion. Also college isn't keen on giving NOCs for internships. Also they don't tend to provide funding to projects developed by students.

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

The Most Detailed Review of Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata

There are 3 ways of getting into the college that I am aware of : WBJEE Counselling, Management Quota and Lateral Entry (Thru JELET, for students with a diploma). The lateral entry gives you admission in the second year if you have a valid diploma and appear for the JELET exam. Since i am a regular admission student, i will talk about the first two methods only. There is an exam called West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) which follows the same syllabus as JEE but with a different pattern of paper. If you get a decent rank, you will be alloted this college in the counselling process. If you have a bad score in your JEE exam and you didn't appear for WBJEE exam then you will have to go to the management quota route. You have to pay an additional amount of 2-6 lakhs (depending on the demand, branch and intake of students) on the top of the total fees. My advice is that if you can afford to pay that extra money then go to Heritage Institute of Technology cause they have better placement and location. If you decide through counselling than Narula should be one of your priorities. The overall admission process is the same in all other colleges because they admission is conducted through WBJEE counselling and not the college itself. If you live far away then it may be a problem for you because you will need to come to the college for registration and stuff for atleast 3 times within the span of 2 weeks. My priority list of WBJEE counselling also had Haldia Institute of Tech, Heritage Institute of Tech, Techno Main SaltLake, Academy of Tech, and Narula. My rank was 29k so i was getting Cybersecurity in Haldia, CSBS in Tech Main, CBSC in AOT and IT in Narula. So I chose Narula out of the available options because i didnt want to take any specilisation branch. In 2024, the closing rank of IT in Narula was around 58k in the mop up round (third round).
