Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I took up a triple major course, there is no triple major course now only double majors and hons. We studied each subject lesser compared to single majors but still the curriculum was good. There was only 2 exams in a semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college provided good placements. They claims that about 80 percentage of the students who applies for placements gets placed. I thing I liked was they gave free placement guidance for whoever was interested.

Fees and Financial Aid

I studied BSc triple major, had to pay 50k per year, by the the time i graduated I beleive it was 60k. The college also provided some scholarships, some of my friends applied and almost all of them got it.

Campus Life

3

There were only few festivals during my time in college, it is understandable since it was covid -19 period. I gear there were many festivals for the juniors after i left the college. I had a cultural fest which was pretty good. Each classrom had a projecter which they rarely use.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostels were very expensive. We had a curfew starting at 8:30pm. The warden inspected our rooms every night. They would not even allow us to go to our freinds room after the curfew time without the warden's permission. It is better to rent a pg or an apartment. I rented a pg after my first year, it was comparatively cheaper. Remeber to thoroughly read the agreement form before signing it and mention required changes while renting rooms. The mess was good the food was nice. Thwre are many messes nearby the college.

Admission

I never applied to other colleges, this was my only choice. The admission process was pretty simple. After i applied online I had an online interview, it was during the covid 19 period. They only asked basic questions based on our subjects.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was generally supportive. Even the library staff provided us good assistance when ee needed their help. The college is autonomous the papers are generally valued by the college itself and not the university. There is a midterm and an endsem exam in each semester and thats it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

from 6th semister onwards students are eligible for pkacements. I dont know about the companies of placements as iam a fresher here. The placements here are really good in this course. After Msc forensic science the annual package in an average here is 2-5 lakhs. Almost 80% of forensic students get placement here. As iam pursuing my bachelors here, iam thinking of writing the entrance exam for NFSU gujarath for my Masters.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
